Right from Errol's mouth.
When Crawford was moving from 140 to 147, he said (Forbes: May 22, 2017) he wanted Keith Thurman or Pacquiao! Nobody had a problem with that! However, when Spence wants Keith Thurman or Pacquiao, suddenly it's a problem! Porter is easier because the fight is "easier" to make! No co-promotions between PBC and ESPN, no beefs between Arum and Haymon! Manny Pacquiao just beat Keith Thurman! Manny Pacquiao is the WBA Champion! Manny Pacquiao brings in 3X as many PPVs as Terence Crawford! Manny Pacquiao is signed to PBC! Why would Spence not want the same opportunity that Crawford wanted? Why is that a problem now? If Crawford wanted Pacquiao, who lost to Horn, why wouldn't Spence Jr. want Pacquiao, WHO JUST BEAT KEITH THURMAN!!!

I mean it is a no-brainier for him to look for Pacquiao next if he beats Porter, but the real question is will he actually get Pacquiao? I'm not sure he will. But if he does? Then that would be great for him and the biggest fight that he could get. That PPV may end up getting close to a million buys. If Spence/Porter does over 250k buys and nears 300k buys, then it is a very safe bet that the Pacquiao fight does a million plus PPV buys. That would be a HUGE fight and big enough fo Pacquiao to take it. Pacman isn't going to just want 20M for Spence, that number better be closer to 30M....And rightfully so.

But if he can't get Pacquiao, then the Crawford fight needs to happen next. Ideally BOTH fights happen in 2020.

And the FACTS are, Spence has a better resume at WELTERWEIGHT beating Brook, Algeria, Lamont Peterson, an undefeated Mikey Garcia who moved up but it was still sanctioned as a welterweight title fight, and he beat Bundu and Samual Vargas when both only had 1 loss.

Crawford has only beaten Jeff Horn and Jose Benavidez at WELTERWEIGHT who were both undefeated at the time. But he beat Khan after he already had 3 losses.

Who again has the stronger resume at WELTERWEIGHT???

It's not opinion, it came out of Errol's mouth along with a bunch of silly excuses as to why he can't fight Crawford.
We will see because when a microphone was stuck in the face of Spence yesterday; he was quoted as saying HE wanted Porter, then Manny, and then he is going for Crawford to unify the division. Fighters don’t have to do what you or I or anyone wants. They take ALL the risks in the ring. And anyone who chooses boxing or any combat sport isn’t afraid of anyone. Spence and his team are taking fights in a certain order that make the most FINANCIAL sense to them RIGHT NOW. Again, no one has to agree with them, but every fighter in boxing is trying to emulate Floyd and Manny and make the most money before they retire. IF Spence beats Porter, and gets Manny and beats him, he will not only have made a lot of money but will make that unification fight against Crawford possibly one of the highest in boxing history. Everyone wants to rush things all the time, microwave society. Let that fight build!

Restricting the conversation into narrow parameters cuts both ways. If you look at a fighter and disallow everything he's done then why not deny everything but his last fight. That would mean Spence un-spectacularly fought a lightweight for 12 entire rounds. It dosen't look so good does it? Once you box the discussion into a narrow box it's no longer a discussion...it's a sales pitch.

Crawford needs to get in there with the likes of Thurman, Danny, and Porter. Horn and Khan at WW don’t cut it me, sorry.

Spence also said he's not fighting Crawford so we will see, the truth will come out. One of us will be right and the other should admit they were wrong.

Crawford holds a belt at 147 he has been at world level longer than Spence he is (rightly) higher in the p4p rankings. If Spence wants respect at his props at 147 then Crawford is the fight to make.
