Its embarrassing. What is wrong with that set of people over the water in America? I have friends who work in the middle east. Ruiz's concerns are not unreasonable. The venue would not provide for the kinds of personal and contractual protections you'd expect in any other country.

One way to settle this: Ruiz can afford a decent lawyer familiar with Saudi law. When the deal is struck, include written protections in it that will allay his concerns, and insist that the Saudis be made signatories to the contract. If they won't sign, then the deal is never struck. If they do sign, then push ahead and knock out AJ all over again.
