do you think ggg will go up two divisions for someone like yarde ?
of course not, and i cant blame him for that...
If Yarde beats Kovalev in Russia he is no longer a no name. That would be a very big win and the boxing world would take notice of it. It he wins it will probably be by KO. That means you have a new young champion with 100% KOs. who KOed the famous Kovalev in Russia. Hell. that's a promoter's dream.

I agree with the claim that Alvarez would get more respect if he fought Saunders or Benavidez.
If he fights Kovalev, it just looks like he's going after the weakest champ at LHW.
well canelos just fough jacobs and now he is going up two weight classes, by no means kova is a weak opponent for any lhw , let alone for a mw who was a champ at 154 only 2 years ago...

eledier beated kova too, and no one claim he was worth jumping 2 weight classes up... there is only one name at lhw, and thats kova... canelo has no obligations outside 160, if he doesnt fight kova, then andrade or charlo should be next, there is a lot of good fighters at 168 and 175, but they need to do more , no one really stands right now. .
kova did a lot more than just beating one name, if he gets the payday it will be well deserved...

Canelo is a rare breed in the sport, I don't think we've seen someone step up to challenges like this since ODLH. Oscar saved boxing in the early 2000s and Canelo is saving it now.

Who do you guys think the next boogeyman will be for Canelo after he beats Kovalev? We know GGG fans aren't really GGG fans, they're just Canelo haters. Bivol and Benavidez are the names they've been spitting out around here lately.

Is the narrative different now since it was floyd
              Canelo was fighting at 155...

He was a 154 "champ" almost 3 years ago. Smith was by far the weakest titleholder, in a fight that suddenly had no vada testing, against a guy who had done jack **** at an international level.

Everyone knows that GGG already dropped Kovalev in sparring years ago. Now Kovalev got not just stopped by lightpunching Ward (controversial) but also by Eleider Alvarez who is no big puncher either. GGG might be old but he aint getting knocked out by nobody, the old Kazakh warrior still beat Canelo, who avoided GGG in his prime, in most peoples eyes, not once but twice. At least 1 win 1 draw.

Now Canelo is not just running from GGG, but from everyone who is not washed up, like Callum Smith, Saunders, Andrade, Bivol, Benavidez and others, just to get the scalp of another washed up fighter age 35+ who got stopped a couple times.

Great matchmaking for Canelo, just great for all the casual fans who arent able to see the pattern.

When will Canelo face a top tier fighter who is not old and washed up?

What about Bivol or Callum Smith?? No, too young, not washed up.
