Although I'm not sure if Pacquiao is trolling Thurman or if he means it in a nice way. I know alot of people name their pets after someone they admire as well. Just like you name your son after your idol, like Fury who was named after Tyson.
This won’t go well with many in the black community. It will be interpreted like Pacquiao is calling Thurman a dog. I know Pacquiao doesn’t see it that way but people ought to understand the relationship with blacks and dogs. Calling someone a dog in many black communities is a big insult. Dogs were also used for oppression and one reason George Foreman had no support in Zairean was because of the dog he brought. It’s complex.
