Is Eddie Hearn really a good promoter or just an opportunist?

I want to read opinions based on the following:

    - Building fighters.
    - Promoting fights.
    - Match making
    - Maximising earning potentials for his fighters.

If you're arguing for Hearn, don't include AJ. ||Ditto if you're arguing against him. Just argue based on what he has done in general and his impact on boxing.

He's a good promoter. As a mater of fact, he is the best promoter in the U.K. and all of Europe. Stateside though, he's not good at all. He is perhaps the worst boxing promoter in America; Largely because he doesn't understand the market or its landscape.

Based on what premise did you say that? Building boxers? Match making? Promoting fights? Maximising earning potentials for his fighters?

His shows are often Box office attractions. Ticket sales alone plus PPV puts Matchroom over the top as far as promoting boxing cards in the U.K are concerned.

He's a good salesman. He's a tall, dark, handsome guy. Even the male media members swoon over Hearn.

He had an incredible head start in boxing because of who his father is. His father had already made mistakes that Eddie wouldn't have to repeat. To a certain degree you really have to look at Eddie's career as an extension of his fathers. Even with that headstart he worked incredibly hard to separate Matchroom from the other UK promoters. I think he has a great work ethic and vision. But his ego is bigger than his brain. He thinks he's smarter than everyone else. But since coming to America I think he's been humbled a bit because he didn't come with that advantage he had in the UK.

But Eddie will be ok. Guys like Eddie don't fail. His empire won't be destroyed. They only thing that can take Eddie down is his greed and ego. Like what he did in the Dillian Whyte situation. As long as he doesn't cause any self inflicted wounds he'll be ok.

Well it seems we cant keep his name out our mouths so he seems to be doing a good job. Then this controversy between Ruiz and Joshua is building up this rematch even bigger. He seems legit

I think I agree with this to an extent but I'd give him a B- when it comes to promoting fights.

Hearn is responsible for Froch, Groves, Kell Brook, Callum Smith and Dillian Whyte (I'd say Dillian rode AJ's name). How would you rate him based on the careers of these guys?

I agree with the match making - Matchroom is the worst company when it comes to match making.

I agree. His greed and lack of street smart would end up being his Achilles Tendon.
