Anybody else tired fighters saying who they will/wont fight?

This game is unlike any other. They are not out there playing a game of baseball or racing cars around the track. These men are straight out fighting.

Choosing the proper opponents, while it may not be liked by the fans, is a neccesity in the game. If you throw your boy in with the best from the beginning then chances are that by the time that he got to the worlds elite he would already be damaged goods.

One fight can change a fighter forever. Ive seen it too many times where they made the wrong call and now this fighter no longer talks properly or fluently. Make no mistake about it guys, this sport is about damage and damage control while trying to bring in as much revenue as possible.

Sure, when a guy wins a title he should fight the best out there to prove himself. But they dont have to rush into it by any means. Make a few defenses and grab some of the loot, then look for the really tough fights. I dont have a problem with that, I understand the game, the sport and the damage involved with boxing.

Its a damned if you do and damned if you dont type of situation. Dont take hartd fights all of the time and you will be labled a *****. Take the hard fights all of the time and in another 10-15 years you wont even be able to pronounce the word *****.

i understand all that, but we are talking about champions not facing each other. that is unacceptable. you got a belt, then defend it.

There is so much more to the equation than you believe. Say fighter A has a belt and fighter B has another. While it would seem logical that they would want to fight each other there is something else to think about. They are probably promoted by different promoters. No promoter wants to lose a belt because the belts equal cash. And they especially dont weant to lose it to another promoter. Thats why King is able to put on great matches, because he has, alot of the time, both fighters under contract. That way, no matter what happens he will still have the belt aswell as the money and leverage that comes along with it.

Personally I'm tired of fans who are so quick to judge a fighters actions, I mean this is their life so they have to put a lot into the decisions they make(& there are a lot of factors that go into it that we're not even aware of), we should just be patient & wait until the official word before we start say "he ducking that guy" or "that guys a *****".

Yeah sure we should be patient, but at the same time these fighters should shut their mouths and avoid mentioning names.

You're comparing *******s and water pistols here, buddy. Two completely different things. If boxing was a structured sport where you had specific guys lined up to fight other guys, and there was a salary that fighters were paid, then you might have a point, but here, you don't. If Hatton doesn't fight Urkal, and instead he gets a fight with Cotto, was it really that big of a deal he didn't fight Urkal? **** no it isn't. Why would anyone want to see a fight with Urkal for a meaningless belt when we could see him go against a much, much better opponent.
