I think the venue was not iron clad in the contract, i think hern must've dropped the ball or something. i suspect the venue in the contract was not firm or solid and now Hern and company are paying for it. i think team andy or more like al haymon know they have them by the balls or something. cuz this shoulda been open and shut!!

[QUOTE=Queen_Leia;19988536]LOL...this statement is funny. Ruiz has no leverage at all. Hearn and his team will win this case in court. Ruiz has put up so many obstacles for a fighter who signed a rematch clause on an optional defense that Joshua didn't owe him.
Ruiz wants --
1. Wants more money than what he signed for in the rematch clause.
2. Doesn't want to fight in the U.K
3. Doesn't want to fight in SA...he has given no reason.
SA world risk level is level 2.. the same risk level as Mexico & India.
The Saudia Arabia argument is BS because it the same as Mexico, you know, the country that he wants to hold the fight in.
Ruiz will lose in court, his excuses are nonsense. Ruiz career will be on hold while this goes through litigation. Any promoter who even attempts to promote him during this time will be sued for interfering with a legally binding contract.
In the meantime, his belt will be stripped from him due to inactivity, Joshua will continue to fight because he's not involved in the lawsuit and more than likely will pick up one of the stripped belts while Ruiz career rots away.[/QUOTE
The only Ruiz goes to SA is by GETTING more MONEY they need him for the fight he is holding out for more money and Hearn will bendComment

I hope for his sake he has some smart people around him that aren't just looking to cash him out, and actually cares about him.
If he can really focus and get into shape, this kid will be amazing. He's young, he's fast, has a reasonable chin, and he's got a decent amount of pop. I'd hate for all that to go to waste. The Mexican Market is huge, and the idea of a Mexican heavyweight brawler is easily sold to world. It'd be such a waste to let that all go to waste for some BS promoter politics.
I like Joshua, but Ruiz has a great personality that'd make him into a superstar if he can do a double over Joshua.Comment

Ruiz does have skills. He is both a good boxer and a fighter. He has good ring instincts for sure, but that is not enough. I don't think Ruiz thinks for himself or is in charge of his future. That is what separates people like, Mayweather, Leonard, Calzaghe, Hopkins, De La Hoya and Canelo from the heard.I hope for his sake he has some smart people around him that aren't just looking to cash him out, and actually cares about him.

Andy holds the belts and isn’t obligated by them to honour rematches by promoters, he’s obligated by the alphabet organisations to fight their mandated fighters hence why he could lose a belt/s towing and dancing to Hearn’s tune, the IBF being the stricter of the orgs, the WBA sure they’ll want Andy to face AJ it’s a huge money fight the IBF put principles before money no doubt they’d love Andy to rematch AJ and no doubt prefer AJ win as the WBA will as they’ll get bigger cuts but they can’t strip Andy on basis he ain’t facing said opponent Hearn is demanding due to a contract.
Surely you’re aware of all this, no ?Comment

We know there was a rematch clause. No one is dis*****g that, not even Ruiz. He is therefore not honouring that clause. His argument seems to be "I'm the champ, I got leverage" not "there was no rematch clause." He hasn't once said there was no rematch clause. Why do you assume he isn't honoring the contract? How do you know Eddie isn't overstepping what Andy signed? I'll answer this one for you. You don't know that.
Only the people who read and signed the contract knows what details were covered and what wasn't. Or where there is ambiguous enough language to take liberties like most promotional contracts that I have seen have had in them.
The fact that Hearn has announced a venue and agreed the match with the sanctioning bodies pretty much rules out that the contract does not give the Joshua team the right to pick the venue.
In terms of ambiguous language, that is not only to do with the people
that read and signed the contract. If this comes down to dis*****g ambiguous terms, then it will ultimately hinge on a decision made by someone who has not yet read and did not sign the contract. Namely, a judge.Comment

He's obligated to obey the law. If he signed a contract that gave him the first fight contingent on a rematch if he won that first fight, then he is in breach of the law if he does not honour the rematch. And a judge can therefore block him from fighting anyone else, just as we saw with Rahman when he sought to ignore his rematch clause with Lewis.Comment

How is he not honoring the contract if he's not dis*****g the rematch?
Like you said that's the thing we all agree is part of the deal including and most importantly both sides of the fight.
The finer points that we don't know the details are seem to be the points of contention. And you can't say he's not honoring a contract that you or I don't know the details of.
No doubt we agree on that.In terms of ambiguous language, that is not only to do with the people
