But Eddie should stop trying to justify it and just say they offered the most money. End of story.
I think a fight outside in 40c Saudi would be intriguing. The outrage I have is that AJ will have got to pick both venues even though he got rubbished. He gets to drag the champ all the way to Saudi. There will be people attacking both fighters for fighting there in the press and public, but Ruiz had no choice. AJ will get extra money by fighting there, looks like Ruiz will not? If Ruiz got sum of that Saudi money it wouldn’t look so bad? They will have to fight in the early morning probably. It will be a strain on both fighters, but AJ is the one who will be compensated to fight there. So Ruiz gets all of the same inconvenience but none of the reward. It’s taking full advantage of that carpet bagging rematch clause to the maximum. It’s not a good look for boxing or the belts.

Exactly right. They have money doesn't make up for the above though does it.

If Ruiz is smart this is where he refuses to fight in SA because of the human rights violations bloodthirsty backwards regime etc.

He would then get massive public backing leaving the governing bodies with an issue.
Screw Hearn and AJ over Andy do it

Except Saudi Arabia is in the desert so in December it drops to around freezing. Average high for December is 22C and the average low is 6C

I wouldn’t want to be fighting outdoors

In America Andy would be criticized for being an intolerant Christian

Outrage? I don't get it, Ruiz knew the terms of the rematch before he signed the contract and the only way there was a rematch is if he beat AJ and became the champ. He could have always not signed up for the first fight and the millions that came with it if the terms were unacceptable and be much worse off.

So Saudi Arabia is good enough for the UK and USA to sell billions of pounds worth of weapons to, but not good enough to stage a boxing event?

This is a lie. The region they're fighting in has an average of about 68 to 77 degrees in December. Another great uneducated post on here from this guy. Ha Thinks it's an actual desert they are fighting in ? Saudi is broken up in around 11 regions and the fight is in a very well built city Riyadh is one of the fittest regions so it doesn't get overly cold except in January it does not get 6 c there , you put a low number for the low IQ guys on here that see a six and think freezing. Ha

We get how a contract works. It’s not like AJ would have accepted any of the champs he fought having rematch clauses? AJ brings the money I get it. That’s how he can force his opponents into signing rematch clauses or no fight, and at the same time not allow any of the champs he fought the same courtesy. So let’s not pretend there’s any morality here and u wouldn’t be pissed if Ruiz was ur brother. The reason all his fights were in UK, paid people to come there. That’s fine. But AJs most profitable quality is being born in the UK. Why do u take so much pride in the fact u throw money at a fighter who got rubbished by Ruiz? Why be proud that u can pick both venues even though u were the loser? That’s pathetic. What’s to stop three rematch clauses? California has a higher GDP than England. So if ur so proud of ur earning power? Big deal AJ got smashed by a nobody from the USA.
