Mandatories work when there is no corruption behind it. A fighter earning his shot at the champ by working hard and beating the best available opponents is the epitome of what boxing is about. It might not be the most popular fight but the mandatory has earned it and deserves a shot for their hard work. Having a fighter above that system only creates fights among popular fighters and creates a system where corruption and BS politics take over further nailing the coffin closed on boxing. Its sad that we don't have more WBSS support as at least some of the best people get to fight each other. If boxing starts to lean more towards franchise champions and twitter callouts to make fights between popular fighters the sport might as well be the WWE.

Let’s be real here. Only Charlo fans want that fight. Do you remember how charlo got that interim belt? He beat a one legged guy in Heiland. Who shouldn’t have been cleared to fight. Maybe Mr. Haymond had something to do with that? If so then he got his Belt through boxing corruption. Now to Charlos current case. He rather face bum after bum waiting around for a payday. Instead of fighting Boo Boo and securing that belt which Canelo wants. Also scrubs get Mando spots all the time. It’s nothing new.

#1 Andrade
#2 Charlo in Houston
#3 Spence in a few years who could easily make 160. At Dallas Stadium.
#4 Murata in Japan. Who is another Mandatory.
#5 GGG (Once he beats someone with a pulse). Sergiy/GGG winner.

GGG needs get off his ass and fight Charlo/Andrade/Murata/ or Sergey. Quit fkn chasing Canelo.

the bigger issue would be if a scrub like Chavez Jr got named mandatory with all of the talent at 168, which further would prove the corruption of boxing organizations such as the wbc. Now in canelos current case, Charlo is a fight that most real fans would like to see. Instead, Canelo wants to wait around for worn down Kovalev.

so if Canelo wants andrades belt, why doesn't he fight him for it? Instead he's passed on that fight too just waiting out old Kovalev. You saying that only Charlo fans want that fight is false, I'm not a Charlo fan, and I want to see it because I think it's a good fight. He's young, undefeated and is a much better opponent than khan, Smith, Chavez Jr, and fielding. All people that Canelo some how found worthy of a fight. you say the same old tired lines every time and then make s*** up to go with it. I didn't call Kovalev a bum. I Said he's old and run down which he is. He's 3-3 in his last 6. There are plenty of young prime champions in the weight classes where Canelo fights. Waiting out Kovalev is lame. Kovalev has a fight this month, Canelo shouldve been fighting andrade in Sept and if he really wanted to chase Kovalev, do it after that. Since Canelo beat Cotto in 2015, he has only 2 opponents that shouldn't be ridiculed, ggg and Jacobs. Everyone else was a trash opponent selection.

Bottom line is when you are gauranteed 35 mil a fight including live gate,then nobody can accuse you of ducking anyone as long as you are steadily challenging yourself vs top opponents especially in higher weight classes & especially considering Nelos the cashcow whos short af & is still going up in weight & has matured into a true throwback fighter who would still hang w the best in any era at mw. Its especially retárded when people say a fighters ducking a Charlo or Andrade for undefeated still peak Ggg,beltholding top rated Jacobs or consensus #1 lhw Kovalev. All those fighters have in common that they're naturally much bigger than Canelo with longer reach.

I have gotten to the pt that I'll call anyone hating on nelos opponent selection straight up novice clowns that know nothing about Boxing & have no credibility whatsoever just as they wouldn't for hating on JCC opponent selection yet on both counts imbeciles try; forgetting JCC fought 6x the same yr he faced Whittaker & he had been trying to face Sweat pea for a good while(don't remember exactly how long) JCC has held almost every record of title fights,title defenses,total champion or ex champs faced etc.etc. & you can still find clowns hating on him Canelo already has 14 title fights if I recall correctly might be a bit more.

the best model for the fighter is... I am fighting *****, if you want to buy the fight, fine..... if not, then I will sell my product elsewhere

but if their deal is such that..... the broadcaster has to air the fighters selection, but is only prepared to pay this much..... then I am fine with that..... so long as the fighter can simply walk if he is unhappy with his cheque

one thing..... if DAZN will try to undercut Canelo, then they will not put up with Golovkin continuing to feast on scrubs and no-hopers
