Good performance from Ortiz tonight. While stopping a tough fighter like Orozco is a good staple to his resume, going into that 6th round it almost looked like Ortiz was about to punch himself out and I think that's part of the reason why he wasn't too impressed with himself tonight. I mean he did get hit a few times and was getting backed onto the ropes. He's gotta be careful not to blow his load especially in a 12 rounder cause you can't KO all your opponents. As for Orozco, he came to fight and put a good effort, but it took a lot out of him after Ramirez and explains why Garcia's crew picked him for Ortiz. Nevertheless, Orozco will go back to the drawing board and bounce back from this. As for Ortiz, he showed a lot of humility and maturity and glad that he acknowledges that he's not ready for a world title yet.Comment

Garcia is a great fit
If you think he got tagged tonight , it would double and triple with Abel
Just thinking maybe once upon a time he might of been a good fit , now Abel is all offense imo
Spends less time on defense especially if he knows he’s got a guy who can turn the fight around on a punchComment

He was one of the best prospects and was dropping Lucas Matthysee in sparring under trainer Joel Diaz. This kid was already going to be great no matter who trained him but adding a elite trainer like Robert Garcia is like adding the Cherry on top of the sundae. Perfect fit for Vergil, gets great instructions and world class sparring with all those top guys in the Garcia camp.Comment

Duno and Garcia are both fighting different opponents in September. Two months is not enough time to recover and set a full camp. If they ever do fight, Tanajara will outbox himComment

Nice W by Ortiz. Best win so far & still taking mfers out.
I do think he's making a mistake going to 147. He should cut his teeth at 140 & make his name more there & come at 147 with some more seasoning on him & likely after Bud & Spence are gone, but respect & good luck to him going for the big prize at welterweight if he dares to attempt it.Comment

Very entertaining scrap. Orozco came to fight and Vergil wanted that KO. I was impressed by both actually. Orozco looked to be the smaller man but also looked sharp and aggressive.
Ortiz should learn from this fight. I like him and look forward to his development.Comment
