It's clear the original poster has an agenda with Joshua/Wilder, and is being dishonest about that too. We get it, you're a Joshua fanboy, no problem with that, but be honest about it. Let's get real here, Joshua spent more time on the floor than he did standing up vs Ruiz. How much more of a beating did you want him to take? We've all seen the video Of Ruiz taking his soul, what more did you want him to take? Give the Snickers Champion of the world his props. Joshua lost to the much better man, and will lose again in the rematch.

The ref gave Joshua at least 20 seconds before waving the fight off vs. Ruiz, Joshua was chilling on the ropes till the ref realized Joshua was dazed and confused. Fury also got 20 seconds vs. Wilder, he got up at 10 fight should've been called off but the ref made Fury take a walk in both directions and checked his gloves.

Don't talk about fairness of boxing in American. British boxing has always been a joke and this year the most. Ya run your mouth like you can do something than an American will travel there a beat your fighter down, you'll make excuses. You think Wilder is ducking Whyte, like its some conspiracy by the WBC to prevent Wilder from fighting fat boy who gets knocked down every fight.

If Americans give extra time, Brits always wave the fight off way too quick. Two cases in point:

      Joshua vs. Takkam
      Froch vs. Groves 1

No one gets a fair shake on the scorecards in the UK either. I'm almost certain all British fight fans are incompetent. Eddie Hearn is a sell out. You going to have fun watching Joshua get knocked out in Saudi Arabia? You think Wilder will ever fight in Saudi Arabia?

AJ was given more than enough time to recover, the ref was lenient every time. Stop pulling our legs here.

But at the end of the day we all knew they tried to buy Wilder extra time AFTER the beginning of the 8th round. And like you pointed out we haven’t seen it since, unless a boxer had a proper cut, and yes the Joshua/Ruiz fight was a perfect comparison to make this valid point.
no its not because the round never finished... he was stopped BEFORE the round concluded those are two big differences

Wrong about Fury, got up at 8 and a half, ready to fight. Ref wanted to make sure (his discretion) Wilder got this against ortiz, both cases were fair and 30 seconds later Firy was kicking Wilder ass. Should have been called off? Haha, you moron.

The OP started questioning the role of the doctor and how that wasn’t seen in the Joshua/Ruiz fight, seems reading comprehension is lacking from the replies of the “The ref gave Joshua 10 minutes to recover” talk about trying to deflect.

Facts is where was the doctor like we saw in the Wilder/Ortiz fight, do you now believe it had nothing to do with NYSAC, and they just tried to give Wilder more time to recover AFTER the belt has rang.

Why didn’t the doctor come in and check Ruiz or Joshua AFTER the round had started to see if they were both ok to continue. Like he did for Wilder, this has nothing to do with the ref, more that rules about doctors coming in AFTER the bell has rang. Why not check a fighter at the interval?

But but Joshua was given 10 minutes doe....

Wrong, I didn’t see the doctor checking Ruiz or Joshua after the 3rd when they both suffered KD.... Why is that? The fight was in New York right?

I was told that’s the norm after we questioned why a doctor would check Wilder AFTER the bell has already rang for the 8th round.

So why wasn’t that same rules applied to Ruiz and Joshua between the 3rd and 4th round?

They don’t do it whenever someone gets knocked down though. They do it when they think the fighter is at risk. Did any of you think Joshua was at risk after the third round? Hindsight is 20/20 but at the time everyone was saying Joshua was gonna come back and kill Andy in round 4.

Hell, there are fans on this board who are saying even after the fight Joshua was never hurt, and two of the knockdowns were pushes...so yeah lol

Doctors checking Wilder at the start of round 8 was bad enough, but it would have been even worse if it happened during Joshua-Ruiz.

No rounds in Joshua-Ruiz looked like round 7 of Wilder-Ortiz. When were doctors supposed to check Joshua and for what exactly? Are they supposed to check every fighter who get dropped now?
