If you think Thurman was in his prime, that is fine. It prime isn't very good then because he had a terrible fight with Lopez.

Or you can think Thurman is out of prime after the 2 year layoff and Manny just fought another guy who is out of it.

Manny and Floyd are both special fighters who have had stellar careers. The fanatics on both sides seem to overlook the fighter they support career in terms of how they picked their opponents and why. Boxing is a business and fighters will try to capitalize on each others names at the right time. If both sides admitted their fighters faults people could make a better argument when debating the greatness of one over another. They both used catch weights to gain advantages over other fighters but the opponent also took that fight. They both fought fighters on their way out but it also was a good paycheck for that aging fighter. Everyone wins except the few fans who get hung up on ****** *****.

* weight manipulation
* well-timed opponent selection

1) Pacquiao was MUCH worse..... no question, not even close

2) they are the two accusations that pacfans fiercely direct toward Mayweather wtf?

Thurman would be considered a bum overnight. Wins over porter,Garcia, Guerrero and the fact that he was a champion would mean nothing.

Why is nobody saying that pacquiao waited for Thurman to look bad in his last fight with Lopez ?(pacquiao has a strong history of doing this) Or that Thurman hasn’t knocked anyone out in years so pacquiao didn’t get a prime Thurman.


Floyd fights a younger fighter in canelo and they say he was too green and wasn’t ready when in reality they had damn near the same amount of professional fights when they fought lol. People forget Floyd was pressured into the fight with canelo because he was the new boogie man that was supposed to have floyd pissing the bed because manny was still fresh off the Marquez KO so they needed someone to be the guy floyd was ducking.

But manny beats Thurman which is arguably his biggest win of this decade and he is now considered fighter of the decade and the greatest fighter of all time smh.

Don’t get me wrong thurman is a good win for anybody including Floyd but when the future looks back on this time who would you rather have a W over Thurman or canelo?

Specially if he knocked him down and made him spit out his mouthpiece with a body shot.

I said that would be a good win for mayweather too. I never said it was a bad win for pacquiao either. But I guarantee you floyd would not get called fighter of the decade with just beating thurman. If we’re being honest floyd has a far better resume than pacquiao this decade alone. Floyd has wins over PACQUIAO,canelo,cotto,maidana,(he was the hottest thing smoking after beating broner) mosley, and other honorable mentions.

Pacquiao lost to Marquez,Bradley(yes I felt he was robbed) mayweather and Jeff horn lol. Pacquiao was fighting guys like,Jeff horn,Brandon Rios,Jessie Vargas,Chris algirie,mosley after getting whooped by mayweather and a bad fight with mora, and a broner who hasn’t won a fight convincingly in years.

Thurman was a very good win for pacquiao if not his best win this decade BUT that should not qualify him for fighter of the year or atg just because he had a good opponent in there with him this time.
