  • Comments Thread For: Munguia vs. Allotey in Play, But Several Roadblocks Remain

There remains work to be done in confirming Jaime Munguia's next title fight. Reports have swirled of the unbeaten Tijuana (Mex.) bred super welterweight commanding the main event slot for a discussed September 14 DAZN-******ed card at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, Calif. The suggested challenger is Ghana's Patrick Allotey (40-3, 30KOs), with several outlets claiming the fight is a done deal.

Munguia career has been a joke so far. To think at one point people were quick to throw him in there with GGG and some saying that he could even win. Haven't totally lost hope in him but he is not developing well.

The only upside to this is that Ryan Garcia didn't get what he demanded but yeah not looking good for GBP. If Ortiz loses to Orozco, Oscar gonna flip out.

The kid is big and quickly growing, after Mungia returns from a long deserved vacation I believe he'll be campaigning at 160..
He will no longer be able to squeeze down to 54

I guess they may have reviewed him and they realized that he is harder to beat than they thought.
