Devin Haney can take a giant leap towards World title glory when he faces fellow unbeaten star Zaur Abdullaev in a final eliminator for the WBC World Lightweight title on Friday September 13 at the Hulu Theater in Madison Square Garden, New York, live on DAZN in the US and on Sky Sports in the UK.

Haney will win this eliminator but really, he has no business in there with Lomachenko any time soon.

First and foremost someone needs to teach the kid to fight with his mouth closed. Keeping it open is going to get him knocked out and/or his jaw broken.

Danny Roman is a real one. I was expecting him to drop the WBA title. MASSIVE respect for taking this fight. He is one of the only fighters all decade not to swerve one of these highly ranked up and coming foreign punchers. Ahmadaliev is not GGG, Kovalev, Bivol, etc, at least he's far from proven it yet and I didnt really see THAT when I watched him, but he's quite good, and hits hard, and is pretty fast. Probably the best opponent of Roman's career by a ways and might be the best 122 pounder in the world. Maybe DAZN is a big difference maker in Roman taking this fight too (aka, the $$$) but massive respect to Roman.

Even if he loses, he deserves to come back near the front of the line and get title shots with other orgs very soon. The guys in this sport who take risks deserve rewards even if they lose the fight.

Also, how crazy is it that WOB got Ahmadaliev a champion to fight on DAZN before they got Dmitry Bivol a champion to fight? Cant say Im happy about that. Step yo game up DAZN/WOB! At least call out BJS and Callum Smith on twitter, get some momentum going. But I am definitely happy that this fight is happening.

Anyone know anything about Haney's opponent? Is he world class or just a protected record?

Abdullaev is good, he can give Haney a tough fight. I expect it to go the distance with Haney losing about 3-4 rounds. He is definitely no joke or protected. He can punch, has good combinations, goes to the body and is big.

I saw him beat Lundy, he looked good in that fight. It's a worthy fight

I like your loyalty, but Danny is on another level. Maybe Ahkmad gets better someday, if Danny doesn't ruin him.
