Golden Boy wasn't his promoter like that doe. He had a fight by fight deal with Golden Boy. He brought Golden Boy to Showtime to do his fights with him.

And his biggest problem is DAZN wants him to fight GGG they would still want him to fight GGG with or without Golden Boy present. So what's the point spending all that money to buy out Golden Boy when you still under contract with DAZN who still wants you to fight GGG?
Cuz Canelo told Golden Boy he didn't want GGG to be a part of the deal. Its not about GGG at all. Its about Golden Boy not acting on behalf of Canelo's interest. Hell I think Canelo should fight GGG again myself, but Canelo said what he said & Golden Boy went against what he said to get this sexy DAZN money. Thats a problem of principle & not really about other fights or fighters. You can't have someone around who's not looking out for you that is supposed to be looking out for you.

Canelo's manager, trainer, promoter, butler can sign or say whatever they want to DAZN but if they didn't get Canelo to sign that it means nothing.
Who's trying to get around the MAA & how so. You took a strong left turn there & lost me.

And I think you are mistaken with Canelo & DAZN having THAT direct a deal. Golden Boy as Canelo's promoter IS his deal maker. They see every deal offered to Canelo & they figure out if its worthwhile for them as well as Canelo. From my understanding of how boxing works it would be a violation of the MAA for DAZN to do a deal with Canelo directly while he had his promotional rights owned by Golden Boy.

This is some sh^t for OnePunch to speak on & confirm or shoot down doe at this point maybe.

And if you do get out your Golden Boy contract but you are still under your DAZN contract then what difference does it even make.
I'm sure the contract could be bought out. If he hires someone that could accept half of what he pays GBP for every fight, or less, then he could end up saving money after the duration of the deal.

I'm not convinced GBP only takes 2M from Canelo. If he made 45M or so vs Jacobs, I'm guessing they took at least 4M of that, if not more.

Yes and also get out of DAZN deal while he is at it. The sources for the articles this week seem to be from DAZN so if what they are already willing to leak publically is mostly true Canelo should have a great Ali Act and tortious interference cases against both. But, even if he had to buy out just do it at this point. Hell threaten to pull a Ward and do only the contractually mandated promotions for any fight. Demand all the fights are in Guadalajara in some church basement.

DAZN has shown at this point they only offer money and headaches with the money seems to be running out well before Canelo gets to the quarter-point of the deal. DAZN is not approving or pricing out fights that are more than reasonable to make. And I don't care if GBP promised this 3rd fight and that is why DAZN signed GGG because there is 0 way even a coked-out Oscar told a coked-out Skipper that Canelo would fight ggg 5 more times. So why the hell did Skipper give ggg a 6 fight deal? At a 9 figures?

DAZN reckless spending along with GBP initial lowballing is going to price out fights going forward as we already seen with the Kov fight where he was offered 8-10 million and turned it down because it was not Jacobs money. And its only getting worse with Dervy getting 5 million in a fight that won't add new subscribers.

            yup.....

at this point in this career he DOES NOT need a promoter for his fights etc.

or re up the contract for a fight by fight basis ala miguel cotto.

Fighters continue to trap themselves with Promoters because they want the FAST MONEY only to find out that yeah Promoters will give you money upfront fast BUT they are keeping most of your back end and cutting deals using you as Bargaining Chips but not cutting you in on it

That is just the Money Domestically, most fighters are not even aware of the money that comes in from overseas. This is why most promoters are never willing to show Fighters The Books because if they did Fighters would see that they're getting screwed by their promoter badly and lose it

But yeah if he can then do it, if he can rework something with DAZN to Separate his deal with DAZN and do his own Canelo Promotions type of situation in which he promotes other Mexican Fighter then maybe that is something to try resolve this to keep things from really getting nasty and really exposing GBP

Right now GBP has Canelo and Ryan Garcia very upset and that is NOT GOOD!

We don't know what was said and what was signed by Golden Boy to DAZN that is all rumors and speculation but we do know they are separate contracts. Golden Boy has their own contract with DAZN. And Canelo has is own network contract with DAZN that has no mention of GGG.

What Golden Boy signed or promised to DAZN means nothing because DAZN didn't get Canelo to sign saying he would fight GGG. If you sign a deal with a fighter then the manager tells the network yeah the fighter will do this even if that manager signs something himself that doesn't legally bind the fighter because he has his own contract with the network that he signed that doesn't mention any of that.

If DAZN thought getting a verbal or signed commitment of Canelo fighting GGG from Golden Boy would deliver that fight without getting Canelo himself to sign and agree to that they are phuking idiots.

I'm asking why would you want to get that commitment from Golden Boy and in writing for their deal but not in writing with Canelo in his deal? Either they are idiots or they did it as some legal way to get around Ali Act that might prevent a Network from putting a fighters name in a contract that you have to fight as part of a multi-year contract. We don't know what may of been verbally or written agreement Golden Boy gave DAZN for GGG. That's all rumors and speculation at this point. But we do know Canelo has 1 contract with DAZN. Golden Boy has their own separate contract outside of Canelo. And Canelo has a promoter contract with Golden Boy outside of DAZN. If he buys out his contract with Golden Boy what good is that if he still under contract owing fights to DAZN when his beef is he doesn't want to fight GGG and DAZN still wants him to. So what is the point of buying out a promoter contract when you still in the same boat with DAZN who will still want you to fight GGG and you still under contract with them lol

Show me proof of these contracts specifically the Canelo one with DAZN that has no mention of GGG in it.

If Golden Boy owns Canelo's promotional rights & make his fights idk why this is such a crazy agreement between DAZN & Golden Boy. I do think Golden Boy would want to let Canelo in on it doe, but ultimately Golden Boy has the ability to make fights or not make fights to some degree for Canelo & has some measure of control with making Canelo vs GGG III.
