I understand that, but golden boy makes money off canelo so if canelo buys out of golden boy, how is the original contract still valid? Something would have to be modified or just re structured

He would also need to start his own promotion or find someone he could work with on a fight by fight basis.
        Zanfer would be perfect

Its semantics in some way, but its how it is.

Thus if Canelo bought out of his deal with Golden Boy that would mean DAZN would need to deal directly with Canelo.

And if Canelo went this route I'm sure he'd walk hand in hand with DAZN in getting out of his Golden Boy deal & he may even do it to the tune of DAZN buying him out of the deal & Canelo paying back DAZN in payments or in one lump sum with his next fight or some other way like that if hes not got the money on hand or only part of the money needed to buy out of his deal.
Canelo signed his own TV deal directly with DAZN for 10 fights owed to them. Golden Boy signed a separate TV deal for dates and budget for themselves for 10 shows a year. If Canelo were to get out of his own deal with Golden Boy as his promoter he still owes fights to DAZN.

They are 2 different contract deals. Golden Boy leveraged their fighter Canelo going to DAZN by guaranteeing their own side TV deal with DAZN outside of Canelo.

It was always clear that DAZN wanted Canelo vs GGG 3.

I have said it before, and I will say it again. Nobody is ****** enough to think that Dazn signed a $365m contract without a guarantee that the most lucrative fight that could be made with Canelo was going to happen.

They didn't sign that deal for him to be fighting Rocky Fieldings or making mandatory defenses. They signed it to have Canelo vs GGG 3, and possibly 4 depending on the outcome of the 3rd fight.

Not sure why people are suddenly shocked.

Floyd signed a massive deal with Showtime that Golden Boy helped get him (his promoter at the time). Then left Golden Boy 2/3s in and it had no effect on his deal he signed with Showtime. Canelo signed with DAZN. Canelo has his own contract with Golden Boy to promote his fights regardless of the network. These are separate contracts. If he buys out Golden Boy he is still under the contract terms he signed with DAZN owing them fights. DAZN has a contract worth 350M and if Golden Boy has a contract worth 2M a fight like Eff Panda said that's 20M for 10 fights. You can't buy out a 20M contract and think DAZN would allow you to walk away from a 350M commitment you signed with them. lol

And his biggest problem is DAZN wants him to fight GGG they would still want him to fight GGG with or without Golden Boy present. So what's the point spending all that money to buy out Golden Boy when you still under contract with DAZN who still wants you to fight GGG?

If this deal is between Canelo & DAZN exclusively why is DAZN got an agreement with Golden Boy for Canelo to fight GGG a third time that is a huge problem for all parties right now.

Canelo seems surprised. Or are you suggesting Canelo is making up that this is the reason he's upset with Golden Boy.

I don't disagree Canelo is the only one surprised doe. I think virtually everyone was on board with Canelo vs GGG III happening once GGG signed to DAZN.

Because they are idiots lol or they were trying to get around legal restrictions with the Ali Act. But that has nothing to do with Canelo if his contract he signed with DAZN doesn't state anything about having to fight GGG they were fools to give GGG that money without a signed contract with the fighter. Canelo's manager, trainer, promoter, butler can sign or say whatever they want to DAZN but if they didn't get Canelo to sign that it means nothing.
