What’s everyone guessing Ruiz gets for the rematch ? Straight pay no PPV upside it’s on DAZN. If around $5 for first one what do you think? 15? 20? Maybe max cap in rematch clause

I can see this ending up it court.... do fight fans seriously think Mexico is the answer to this mess. Mexico is the corruption capital of the world

If Ruiz was to take the fight in Cardiff I’m sure they would give him more money for it but who knows

Hopefully Ruiz takes the fight and the L like a man and the heavyweight big three can fight each other

The fight will be in the US guys don't let these cowards fool. There is no language in the contract that says AJ gets to choose the location so unless they are willing to give Ruiz his 50 million the fight will be stateside.

Why do you think the venue is up in the air? If Joshua and his team would have pushed for any one thing, it would have been that a rematch would be in England. But it is not.

The date, place, judges, the ref, who gets first promotion rights, the TV broadcasting rights... and yes the money are ALL being worked out.

Ruiz has to give Joshua a rematch. Period. He is obligated. Everything else is a blank slate.
Wow. Just wow. I'm in awe at the level of self-confidence and ignorance.

          But let's break it down:

Point one (try to keep up).
I have not read the contract signed between AJ and Ruiz. Did you? If no, then we are both speculating. Its now a question of who is more likely to be correct in assumptions.

Point two. Your position of "Everything else is a blank slate" is contradicted by what Eddie has been saying for a long time. Consistently. You don't trust Eddie? Fine. Let's look at this from a common sense perspective. Which brings us to...

Point three. Imagine you are a champ, one of the biggest stars in boxing globally. Earning almost the highest per fight. Having almost all the belts. You give voluneteer defence. You add a rematch clause, which only roughly says: "opponent X must fight AJ within X period of time if AJ loses to opponent X and invokes this rematch clause within X days from the date of loss, subject to contract between opponent X and AJ". This future contract would then detail the venue, split, timing, gloves, entrance order and so on. Is this how you would structure this deal? Solid work. I'd fire you on the spot for that.

By structuring the rematch clause this way you take all your leverage and hand it over to your opponent. Your opponent would then be able to throw in wrench after wrench in "good faith negotiations" of the that rematch contract. You want venue in the UK? But I want in the US. And look, DAZN also supports this and puts equal amount of money. Or maybe Mexico? Reasonable? Reasonable. You want in December? Why wait? I want in October. You want 60-40 split? But I'm the champion and want 50-50 split. Oh, you don't like the terms...hm, it seems like we failed to come to terms then, I'm willing to honor my rematch obligation, of course, but since we've reserved the terms for future negotiations, what can we do if you don't accept my reasonable demands? I guess the fight is off.

As long as he negotiates in good faith (which requirement is hard not to satisfy), he can find a million and one ways to tank the rematch.

Do you really think that after decades of negotiations of rematch clauses these things (probably down to the entrance order and songs) are not boilerplate??

          Wake up.

That's pretty bad sportsmanship. Your guy loses and all of a sudden the other guy is a cheater. When I see stuff like this it makes me think that you didn't understand what you were watching. Real fans of the sport saw the hand speed, traps and the heart to exchange after taking a good shot.

              Let me correct Anthony Joshua.

He came to the US and got put on his back.

Show some gratitude, you signed an agreement for an imediate rematch. Win that then YOU get to call the shots.

just bloody announce the fight anyway it's getting tedious now.
You sound like a want to be lawyer for AJ. You doing a commercial. He signed the agreement and no two agreements are a like. Go **** your head in a window

Kinda agree with Joshua. Rematch should be in U.K. If it is Joshua wins, then the third fight can be in old Mexico. Sounds like this is turning into a Fury vs Klitschko rematch where it took 8 months to get a date then another 8 for injury and cocain
