Apparently, people don't know what the word average means.
Was Cotto a fighter with a losing record?
Was Cotto a journey man?
Was Cotto a club level fighter?
Was Cotto a domestic level fighter?
Was Cotto a contender?
Was Cotto a paper champ?
Was Cotto a solid champ?
Is Cotto a Hall of Famer?
Is Cotto an ATG?
Is Cotto the GOAT?
There's levels to this *****. Think about the category most fighters fall into. Cotto was a solid champ and is arguably a hall of famer. His accomplishments put him well above average.
Putting things into perspective, the likes of Berto are above average.Comment

Miguel Cotto was a warrior. Fought everybody he could (except Hatton, Tszu). Cotto win, lose, draw fought his ass off and was never in a boring fight. I can def appreciate that.Comment

I agree that Cotto is overrated by many. He was an inconsistent fighter being better in some fights than others. He could be a dirty fighter hitting low on purpose and picking guys up and throwing them down. He was a poor champion at 154 and 160 defending against lousy challengers. He was the pretend middleweight champ. He never once fought at 160. He won the middleweight title at a 159 pound catchweight and defended it against Geale at a 157 pound catchweight instead of fighting GGG who had already KOed Geale. I don't believe Margarito had loaded gloves or he would have KOed Cotto in the 1st round instead of coming from way behind to win. Cotto is very popular and I think his popularity made him seem better than he really was. He wasn't bad but he was not that good either in my opinion. I agree that Clottey deserved the win over Cotto.
You Pvssy-g stans have no right to any debate of overrated fighters!
