One reason he might take less money is because the fight is in NY, so if it goes to the cards, at least he'll have a chance to get a fair decision.

How in the hell can you guarantee that? Are you a mind reader? Canelo never KOs top guys. GGG almost always wins by KO. Canelo just robs guy on the cards in Vegas. GGG will probably KO Dervy and Canelo will continue to refuse to fight GGG.
GGG doesn’t stop many top guys either. I mean you can argue Geale, Murray, and lemieux were top guys, rankings wise, because of the weak state of the division at that time but none of those guys are elite.
