Fury sure makes it hard to defend him with opponents like this, let face it Joshua or Wilder would be crucified if they picked Fury's last two opponents.

Parker would have been a better fight, beat the guy who gave Ruiz his only lose (sure AJ & Whyte have beaten him), still would have been able to create a good story around the Ruiz angle. Two unknowns in a row is just a bridge too far.

That near-death Wilder knockdown was a wakeup call. Besides, he deserves a couple soft touches after stepping up too soon to fight Wilder. And I also suspect that he wants more pop in that punch before he tests himself against the top 10. The second round demolition of Schwarz was a good start. Expect one more tune up AFTER Wallin against a top 20 fighter before the Wilder rematch, unless Wilder chooses to fight the winner of Ruiz-Joshua for undisputed.
We've seen him beat Wilder in december, so he's clearly ready

We've also seen him lying dead still on the canvas for 4 seconds wondering if he was ever going to get up. 9 times out of 10, he would have been counted out right then and there but, luckily, he was allowed to continue, taking some more scary shots before firing back and making it to the final bell. Then, at the last minute, he bails on the rematch and instead of fighting noteworthy opponents, he's back to fighting soft touches. Are these the actions of someone who actually believes he beat Wilder, or are these the actions of someone who realizes he was lucky to make it to the final bell and needs a little bit more time?

He got up and dominated. In either case, 4 seconds out of 36 minutes doesn't determine whether you're fit to fight the top guys or not.

There's always a chance you're getting sparked cold vs Wilder throughout the whole fight, whether you're incredibly match fit or off the couch.

              Fury is ready.

If Fury was ready, he would have fought him in an immediate rematch. But he didn't. I believe Fury wants to get to the point where he not only outboxes Wilder, but knocks him out. Wilder on the other hand, acknowledged what he did wrong, was starting to settle down on his punches and figured out Fury's herky-jerky style in the later rounds. Wilder is eager to run it back and crush him. Wilder showcased his more relaxed, improved skills in the Breazeale fight and Ortiz is the perfect step-up fight for a more match-fit Fury. Tom Schwarz and Otto Wallin? Not so much...

Wilder knocks him out in the rematch, in a much more exciting and explosive fight than the first...

Wilder did not fulfill his end of the bargain and fight Fury in the U.K and wasted time in disputes to where the location for the rematch was to take place which was agreed prior . Wilder insisted on a Barclays venue and we know why. Ha Espn then came along and gave Fury a contract then Wilder followed suit with a Showtime one,the only reason the rematch never happened was Wilder breaking the agreed to location ,one was in the U.S and the other was supposed to be in the U.K.,Wilder himself said we are going to do it in the U.s and one in the U.k but you guys will again make things up on here as Wilder fans. Ha
