Derevyanchenko and his team were not negotiating in good faith. A mandatory should be removed of his ranking/position if he and his team do not negotiate in good faith and do not accept reasonable monetary offers from the champion If the #1 raked contender declines all reasonable offers and makes unreasonable monetary requests then he shoud be removed from his ranking.

Canelo and GB offered reasonable terms most would say amounts of money so large that the economics of the fight no longer made sense. $5.5 millions or 12x what Derevyanchenko made against Jacobs (the biggest fight he had ever been in) is more than reasonable. Derevyanchenko declining that amount was unreasonable and shows he and his team were negotiating in bad faith.

it's not unreasonable to the IBF. It's their rule and obviously they agree with Derevyrancheko and stripped Canelo.

Al Haymon is in the business of putting DAZN out of business and vice versa. Entering these negotiations and not expecting a Haymon aligned fighter to take them to the cleaners is simply negligent on GBPs part.

The guys running the show at GBP should have seen the bigger picture and been in a position to advise Canelo "Okay, if you don't want to fight GGG you need to fight Andrade or Derevyanchenko, because your mandatory is coming up due. If you want to take care of your mandatory, let us know so we can lean on DAZN and let them know that we're not giving up out belts and since you're not fighting Golovkin, they may we well let you handle your mandatory now instead of later."

But they didnt do that. They didnt call Duva back until it was too late to make the Kovalev fight, they didn't request an option to unify with Andrade to cover their asses before entering negotiations with Derv, which essentially resulted them in agreeing to a round of negotiations with Derevyanchenko in which he was free to ask for any amount of money on the planet or get a shot at Canelo's vacant title.
