Canelo should have been putting pressure on oscar about who he wanted to fight. Canelo is the boss not oscar. Per ibf rules canelo could have unified with andrade and the mandatory would have taken a backseat.

The bigger question is why was golden boy dragging there feet with canelo next opponent. I cant blame the ibf there just following the rules.

-- DAZN is the main guilty part: they signed people on shitloads of money that they don't even have...

-- GBP and Canelo are the co-main guilty parts: they went all in with an "entity" (or whatever) which has no experience and no idea about what the boxing market is in the U.S.

This is speculation, but does anyone think that maybe this is Canelo and Golden Boy trying to save face? I mean, if Golden Boy takes the blame then Canelo looks good. Any thoughts? I feel like Canelo and Golden Boy are too tight.

It appears that Golden Boy dropped the ball on his one. I am surprised that they do not keep Canelo and Chepo informed every step in all negotiations. It is obvious that Canelo had a lot of trust in Oscar and his operation. Once trust is broken, it is difficult, if not impossible, to get that back.
