Can't help but think BJS will still avoid anyone good for as long as possible. It's been a feature of his career so far.

Really bad news for frank warren this.

You have to assume matchroom will snap him up and it would be a huge coup if that is the case

Just another neo-**** white nationalist loser obsessed with and afraid of black men because of feelings of ***ual inadequacy

Hearn and DAZN said they signed Bivol because all of them wanted to make a statement together, in other words big fights right off the bat.

However, Hearn and DAZN have failed Bivol in getting any of the 175 titlists to fight him. At the same time, most the 168 titlists are with PBC and won't be allowed to fight guys from other promotions who would beat them.

That leaves Billy Joe Saunders, the one titlist, 168-175, who Bivol could conceivably get a fight with this fall.

If Hearn and DAZN do not immediately sign Saunders for a fight with Bivol, they are continuing to fail Bivol. Both Bivol and Saunders are guys not too many want to fight, and it's unlikely both will get a fight such as a Canelo fight off the bat. I say Bivol and Saunders fight at 168 then the winner gets the spot high in the line to fight Canelo in 2020 or Q1 2021.

Interesting article. When I saw that Hearn was signing BJS, I immediately thought that's an opponent for Canelo on DAZN and it could be at 160, 168, or someplace between. DAZN needs PPV worthy fights for Canelo and this would be compelling. I don't think BJS was signed to fight Callum Smith unless the winner is to built up to fight Canelo.

This is genuinely surprising to me; I thought these two really were in for the long haul. That said, this is probably the best possible thing that could happen for BJS career wise. At 29, coming off that overlay from all the 2018 BS, time is finally no longer on his side. The iron is still hot (enough).
