My guess is that Canelo wouldn't agree to a fair split in the negotiations and refused to take part in a bid when Dervy rejected what he was offered.
It was never going to purse bid. You are not going to give Derevyanchenko a 35% split. That's just silly.

Derev doesn’t deserve 35% in a Canelo fight. Anybody that thinks otherwise is a damn fool. The IBF is ******

canelo even lowered his payday from 35 to 30 million in order to make the fight... the ibf canceled the bid when both sides agreed to make a deal before certain date...
canelo really trusted serg and did not expect him to price out...
he already had a different offer from dazn for the ggg fight , other ways how does he reject an offer from canelo ? he already knew he was getting more fighting ggg...
thats a bad look on dazn when they asked canelo to lower his payday to make the fight and then put all the money on ggg knowing is going to generate much less money.. but i get it, they want ggg to get a title so that he can get the canelo fight.. and they already know ggg doesnt want to fight charlo or andrade...

Canelo will win a close fight that we all thought was a draw

Damn, they are really stepping up the pressure on Canelo. At first, he said was going to sit out the Mexican Independence Holiday and the rest of the 2019 Calendar year to avoid Gennady Golovkin.

Then later he said he would fight Kovalev in December. Then he moved the date up to October for a Derevyenchanko fight which was rejected.

Now DAZN is telling him he better get his ass up and give them another fight before the Calendar year is up. They are not paying him good money for him to sit on his ass and not fight the fights they want.

So as I understand it, Derevyanchenko wanted the fight or big money, so Team Canelo (not saying Canelo, Eric Gomez or Oscar) tried switch it up and not pay him anything... they tried to tell the IBF they were going to unify with Andrade. But the IBF said Team Canelo had already agreed that they'd be stripped if they didn't make a deal, and that it was too late to file an extension. So he got stripped.

May just be me, but trying switch it up deep into negotiations like that and ending up losing the belt when they didnt have to...... seems either negligent or spiteful.

Again, to each their own, but I'm seeing a pattern here.

If this isn't all directly from Canelo.... I wonder if he should ditch GBP and just sign with Hearn.

It's crazy. He lost his big Mexican fight date. Then he agreed to take less money for next fight. A truly weird saga.

All this drama because Golovkin roasted him when he tested positive. How could he criticize the Canelo?!

If you get red carpet treatment from the start of your career, get scored every close fight in your favour, get popped for PEDs and have the president of the WBC defend you and are surrounded by a bunch of yes men, you'll end up with an out of control ego like Canelol did.

This ginger mfer needs some humbling in his life ASAP.

                    He did it to himself...

Remember when GGG was in the exact same position... About to be stripped. He only had to fight the wbo champ or def ibf... Chose to be stripped... And the dude was crucifued for it... Well now you had Canelo doing the same.. And people creating threads about "Canelo is the boss", "Canelo flexes", "Dazn is the one to blame, bla bla bla"

                      Canelo/Andrade for the WBA/WBO

                      Golovkin/SD for the IBF

WBC in limbo with Jermall. The middleweight division is becoming more and more splintered
