The concept for this thread is odd.
You can't take the ranking at one time and think it applies to when the fights actually took place. Ring's rankings span an entire year. Who knows how these guys were being ranked in between then, much less when the fights actually happened.
You can look at their rankings see that by the time they fought, Margarito is out of the top 5 in the least. If they had to re-rank him at the specific time of the fight, who knows where he would have been.
The point that detractors here are trying to make is simply that their end of 2008 ring ranking doesn't tell the tale of what caliber of fighter they were by the time of the fight.Last edited by travestyny; 08-01-2019, 03:07 PM.

You can ask anyone on NSB, Pacquiao is my favorite fighter or all time.
Ask a mod, Larry, whoever.
I do like Cotto too, obviously but my favorite fighter from PR is Tito.

For instance, he fought Margs in November 2010. Why would we go by his year ending 2008 ranking?
I think I saw in one of the rankings that Margs was ranked 6th at the year ending before the fight. And I'm sure most people knew that ranking would plummet after taking an absolute beating from Mosley, time off, and a lackluster performance in his tune up.Last edited by travestyny; 08-01-2019, 03:22 PM.

the logic they use to discredit manny is so weird lol..
"pac fought guys at cw".. "pac fought them when they were old"... "spence and crawford the best right now doe"..
see how flaw their logic is? lol. pac gets no credit for fighting at a cw and beating up old ATGs, yet spence and crawford are the best right now? wtf???
this is why the cycle continues. you cant expect changes if you're part of the problem. you get comments from them like "pac fans are so delusional, saying manny is the best by fighting cw and old fighters".. then you look in the next thread and see the same posters talking bout "spence and crawford da best doe".
