It will be a good fight for as long as canelo whips him up. The skill/ age gap is a bit ridiculous. I’ve watched this guy several times and this forum has grossly overrated him. Plus he looked awful against Jacobs. To say he’s next to canelo is almost funny. He will get beat up. Especially to the body. His defense is very irresponsible and he follows all his shots with overreaches. I’m not thrilled by this match up.

I was hoping for Canelo/Bivol but if this is a mando than Canelo can take care of business and hopefully his next fight will be either GGG, Kovalev, Charlo, or Bivol. That is my wishlist!

Fights I'd prefer instead of this one (in the weight divisions where Canelo has titles) at mw - charlo, andrade and ggg. At smw - callum smith, caleb plant, benavidez, Saunders and bivol since he said he'd drop to 168 for Canelo. So whether it's dazns fault or Canelo /golden boy, this is not the option that any fan should be most excited about.

I’d rather canelo fight Derevyanchenko and keep his ibf, assuming he wins, then to see him fight someone he Already fought twice for no belt. If ggg gets a strap then yeah it’d make the 3rd fight that much better. You can add Kovalev and the other champs at 75 to the list as well but I doubt he would have much success against any champ at 75 not named Kovalev. Personally I think Benavidez and Bivol would kick canelos ass, but I think he can take all the others you mentioned and win. Canelo def has plenty of options.

Until Charlo signs with or agrees to take a fight on DAZN, we need to stop including him in the discussion at 160.

I'll say it again. He's not fighting anyone on DAZN !!!!! & No one from DAZN is going over to FOX/SHOWTIME. He should have been signed PBC has no one at 160 just like ESPN has no one for Crawford at 147

He doesn't have the power to make Canelo hesitant. He's good but he needs that power at the top level.

This is a good fight, fan-friendly and will be much closer than most think. Dervy will win a few rounds and won't look bad in lost ones. The judges will give wide scores in Canelo favour though.

I mean he gots a chance. He's a quality guy & I feel like he's a worthwhile & deserving guy to get this fight. BUT I have a hard time seeing a path to victory for him. I think Canelo is just all around better & that probably lends itself to bring a one-sided-ish fight or mid to late Canelo KO.
