By quality Canelo vs Chavez Jr wasn't PPV worthy. By name value, it was because they did a million buys for that fight. Which is probably around 700k more than Spence-Porter does.

Besides Porter isn't top 3, I don't think he beat Ugas in his last fight. Imo the top 5 147lb fighters are: Spence, Pacquiao, Thurman, Crawford and Ugas.

If Spence/Porter does 700k less buys than Canelo/Jr, then that would be a major success.

If you stay on this forum Long Enough it surely will make you believe PBC is in more trouble than DAZN and Top Rank. My stance has been more months that BOXING IN GENERAL is not in the best space right now here in American and it is a lot of things that can be done to improve that. Fights on FOX and ESPN can help the sport IN GENERAL, the sport needs more EXPOSURE, fighters need more EXPOSURE so that is where the need to be.

The most Popular Sports here in America are FREE, their biggest Games are FREE on Network TV, even for a Niche Sport like Horse Racing, the Biggest Horse Races of the year are on FREE TV

So Boxing Model is very ANCIENT and out Dates. Boxing is still running Window XP, while other Sports are using Mac Pro

With that being said, I think FOX is doing a GREAT Job Pushing the Sport of Boxing on their Network and they're having success on their Networks, APP and PPV despite what some on this forum are saying. It is only year 1 of a 4 Year Deal so yeah sorry to those who absolutely DESPISE IT but PBC not going anyway anytime soon unfortunately for them. In Fact those same people will be absolutely SICK when after that 4 Years is up, they turn around and get a even BIGGER DEAL than the current one

Fox actually is investing and taking time to grow boxing, where espn didn't give a crap and still barely gives a crap about boxing. Gotta give FOX credit, they really pushing PBC they even have a weekly show with abner mares and shawn porter inside pbc.

They're using boxing to get subscribers for their app. They admitted it when they said they're putting the good fights on the app because combat sports fans are used to paying for content.

Top Rank has no say in what goes on the app & what goes on regular ESPN. They have less control than they had at HBO.

F Espn low ass clowns, no wonder all the good fights are on espn app, while they put those ****ty no names like pulev on the tv broadcast.

You're right that there was hardly any criticism directed towards Top Rank when Arum decided to marinate the Wilder vs Fury rematch.

Yet a good unification fight like Spence vs Porter gets attacked.

It's blatant bias or Arum outright has certain media people on the payroll. Or maybe both.
