Comments Thread For: Mayweather: Russell Solid Opponent For Tank, But He's Not At 130

I guess my question is: Is Floyd saying he has to move up and prove himself at 130 first? Tank has fought other people from lower weight classes who never proved themselves @ 130, and he was scheduled to fight Abner Mares, so why does GRJ have to do that? Or, Is Floyd saying if he announces he's moving up he can make the fight with Tank NOW? If it's the first question, then clearly Floyd is scared of GRJ! I know Tank wants it, because after GRJ was talking about Tank in his post fight, Tank hit him up on social media with pictures of stacks! Tank knows Davis vs. GRJ in the DMV is pure gold!Comment

Either way the point isn’t about coming up in weight. It’s about going down. If Russell holds position it is likely to be a negotiated catch weight.
We all know Tank is not going to make 129 let alone 128. If Gary wants him just move up to 130. That’s the only way it’s a fair fight. Too many smaller fighters call out bigger fighters trying to weight drain the competition. Not certain this is Gary’s strategy but it sure is the shills.
Tired of this bouncing around let’s see a unified champion in every weight class before hopping to the next scale.Comment

They made Cuellar move up from 126 and almost got Mares up from fucking 122, but they can't make the Russell bout because he's not at 130? First off, Davis can barely make 130 as it is; dude missed weight twice already. If anything, he should be rushing to clean out his current division, before all the weight cuts make his body start to give out on him. Secondly, he hasn't fought anyone in his weight division in like 2 years. Thirdly, does Mayweather not understand that people can see through this shit? They're pretending like Davis is some kind of superstar in the making, when Pedraza's the only decent guy on his resume. It's not like Pedraza's some great fighter, either; it was an impressive win because of Tank's age at the time, but Pedraza's a B- fighter at best.Comment
