BALTIMORE Floyd Mayweather and Gervonta Davis didn't sound all that interested Saturday night in fighting Gary Russell Jr. anytime soon. When he was asked about Russell as a potential opponent during a post-fight press conference, Davis responded, "No, I don't think so." A Davis-Russell fight would do big business in Baltimore, where a sellout crowd of 14,686 attended Davis' second-round technical knockout of Ricardo Nunez on Saturday night at Royal Farms Arena.

Mayweather is doing what he should bull**** us!

Business as usually. All real fans know this isn't a cake walk for Gervonta, high risk low reward but it will probably be a barn burner with very high skill level on both sides. So Mayweather see Farmer as an easier fight and a possible easy ko as well. Tevin defense isn't great and his power sucks, very solid all around guy with a strap but nothing special. As for the Cuban he's old and coming off a good win against a shot fighter so it looks good on paper plus his record and Olympic gold. Mayweather is doing for Gervonta what he did for his career, being smart at the pickings.

So Floyd and Al Haymon are okay with dragging up other fighter's from lower weight classes Abner Mares to fight Davis but they won't do the same with Russell??? 🤔🤔
That says it all! That confirms what PBC really stands for,....

So if/once Russell is fighting at 130 Tank will make the excuse and move to 135? Sounds like cherry picking as usual.

That is a mismatch. Gervonta Davis would steamroll past Gary Russell, Jr. He is too small and lack both the size and power to keep Tank off of him.

People don’t understand that Tank will make the same amount of “money” fighting Farmer with a belt at 130 than he would against Gary Russell Jr. coming up (4) pounds WITHOUT a belt at 130. And why take the “bigger” risk against Russell at 24 years old, boxing is a business also. Tank is no Canelo at 24 years old where you know he can beat everyone except for Mayweather and they were confident even going into that fight. Tank is talented but his level of competition needs to raise a little with each fight. That’s why I like the Farmer fight right now and collecting another belt at 130 and then trying to unify the division. So I don’t blame them for protecting Tanks career. Keep him away from Lomo too-LOL!!!

Another article lying on Mayweather for clicks.

Gary Russell is a solid opponent,” Mayweather said. “I don’t think Gary Russell is fighting at 130 at this particular time. So, you know, when Gary Russell comes up to 130 and makes some noise, if Tank hasn’t moved up to 135 then anything is possible down the line.

Gary Russell has not moved up to 130 he keeps saying he is but he contradicts his self every time. How’s Mayweather wrong on this?
