Comments Thread For: Manager: Promoters Pursuing H.S. Student Mielnicki Aggressively

Vito Mielnicki Jr.'s performance in the ring and at the box office for his pro debut has resonated with prominent promoters. Anthony Catanzaro, Mielnicki's manager, told BoxingScene.com that the incoming high school senior has attracted attention from several promoters that want to work with the 17-year-old welterweight. That interest intensified once Milenicki made a spectacular pro debut July 13 at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

Hopefully he goes with an outfit that puts his fights on a network rather than an app....we need to get back to mainstream stars in the USA for boxing

I agree. I do have DAZN and ESPN+ but the shyte buffers a lot. My "high speed" internet is not the greatest so maybe that is part of it.

Golden Boy and DAZN is your best fit. They havr Canelo and Ryan Garcia who's the latin version of this kid already.

If he's on DAZN only means I get to watch the fights.

It's your internet man. I also have DAZN and ESPN+ and I never have any issues watching the fights. Time for you to upgrade to a faster speed or a different internet provider

Sounds like this kid has fan appeal to those who don’t normally watch the sport....it’s those types of fighters I want to see crossover and be mainstream sports stars on FOX, FS1, and ESPN. I want to see boxing go back to having stars like Sugar Ray Leonard, Oscar DeLaHoya, Mike Tyson, etc etc. There was a time when the USA came to a halt to watch boxing....that just isn’t going to happen with an app only approach

I'll keep it real. The kid is white and looks like he can fight. I was at his debut. The K.O was sensational. Obviously the other guy's abilities were probably suspect but it was a nice debut!

Canelo is the only dude right now that's at that level. Barely.

No one else comes to mind. Old ass Floyd and Pac don't count anymore.

No one else comes to mind. Joshua was on his way until he was blasted. No one knows who Wilder is. No one knows who Spence is.

I'm talking about casuals and super casuals.

Would be a great investment for any promoter because he draws that younger viewership and Attendance that Boxing Struggles with. Boxing Demo is OLD! I think Top Rank/ESPN is the best place to START for young Mielnicki IMO! Typically a 17 year old would've had to make his Pro Debut in Mexico somewhere like Devin Haney did. So him being able to make his Pro Debut In America was HUGE
