      Ok, I accept that.

But Hearn says Anber and Yvon Michel were present when Whyte's gloves were inspected and cleared by both the BBBoC and the WBC. He also says Rivas was given the option of wearing the same gloves, but declined.

Clearly, there was nothing wrong with Whyte's gloves - or they wouldn't have been OK'd by the BBBoC and WBC inspectors - and Anber's objection was a technical one .. that they were different to the gloves Whyte had been tabbed to wear originally.

If Dillian's gloves were legal, does it really matter that they weren't the ones he originally selected?

[QUOTE=kafkod;19947486]Some interesting info on the Whyte/Rivas controversy in this interview with Eddie.

He talks about the hearing which cleared Dillian to fight, but can't say too much for legal reasons, and says the Boxingscene article which broke the news on Whyte's test failure was factually incorrect.

He also says a WBC representative inspected the gloves Dillian wore and passed them as fully legal, with Rivas' trainer and promoter present during the inspection. Rivas was then given the option to wear the same gloves himself but turned them down.

On the rumours about Rivas failing a post fight PED test, Eddie says that if it was a UKAD test he failed, then due to UKAD confidentiality rules, nobody but Rivas's team will know anything about it till the investigation is concluded.

At the request of some US fans who can't concentrate on video interviews for more than 5 minutes, I'll break this one down into bite sized chunks especially for them.

As usual your information is wrong. Rivas and his camp asked for the gloves to be removed and properly inspected and weighed being that they were not the originally "approved" gloves. They were only allowed to inspect the gloves visually after they were on the fighter. Nice try though!

"We saw Dillian’s hands wrapped but not the gloves being put on. We couldn't examine the gloves and when we protested we were told ‘too bad’ by the Board officials – effectively they said they weren’t going to make him take his gloves off, they're on already, the fight’s about to start".

"Well, it takes 90 seconds at most to put on or take off a pair of gloves. So why not allow us the courtesy of being able to see the gloves?

"All that happened was everything ended up being shrouded in controversy and didn’t look transparent".

        Here is more:

"On fight night, about a half hour before we were set to go into the ring, the Whyte camp suddenly told us they were not wearing the gloves that they selected at the glove selection meeting. Not the number one pair that they selected and not the number two pair either, but another brand of gloves that weren't even on the table at the glove selection.

"Of course, we protested and said, 'What was the point of having the glove selection meeting if you’re going to wear whatever you want?’

"At that meeting Dillian’s representative Mark Tibbs had chosen the two sets of gloves and signed them off. No one said at the rules meeting, 'Oh by the way, if on the night you want to switch gloves you can.'

"To make matters worse, not only was Dillian allowed to wear these new gloves, but he was already gloved up and we weren't even allowed to inspect them. Bear in mind, his camp inspected our gloves – they knew what we were wearing.

"In contrast we had no idea what they were using because they were allowed to pick whatever glove they wanted, tape it up and put it on.

"Even after we reluctantly agreed to let them make the change we still weren’t allowed to see the gloves. It’s insane and created the impression that something was going on, that there was something being hidden. I mean, if those were the gloves they were going to use all along why not select them and bring them to the glove selection meeting?"

If you need any more info Kafkod just let me know.

          LOL
The promoter of a fighter who fails a drug test never tells anyone! It isn't his job or responsibility to do that, and Hearn wasn't even legally allowed to tell anyone because of UKAD's confidentiality rule.

And as usual you are trying to be a smart arse and only showing how ****** you are.

I summed up what Hearn said in the interview. So what information did I get wrong there?

Are you going to tell me the WBC are in Hearn's pocket now?

All this stuff coming from Rivas' team is nothing but sour g****s and them doing everything they can to get the result overturned. You can bet your life, if Rivas had won, there wouldn't be a peep from them about Whyte's gloves!

you all sound f#cking pathetic. you'd be losing your mind if an american fighter got to swap out a different brand of gloves on fight night at home against a brit. never mind that they were not allowed to inspect the gloves themselves! this is dangerous territory. hearn and the BbboC will get somebody killed with this stuff. several boxers have died or gotten brain bleeds in the past few weeks. i really don't think you guys are as pathetic or as ignorant as you're letting on.

particularly at HW and when there are millions of dollars on the line these fights need to be fully transparent and fair. blood will be on your hands if you're complicit in this and somebody dies. you should lose sleep at night acting like a baby over all of this. white failed a drug test for an anabolic steroid and he was allowed to fight. an american journalist covering a fight in england is the only reason all of these wasn't covered up completely. this keeps f#cking happening.

nbody is going to fight for a major world title in england unless he's f#cking desperate. you guys are disgusting. you're going to stick your heads in the sand and somebody is goign to get beaten to death with tiny gloves at the hands of a juice freak like joshua.

If Whyte was already gloved up and Rivas team was not allowed to inspect the gloves, then surely that means they were not even there to check the wraps, who knows what they could of done in the mean time.
Kafkod knows nothing. Here is the statement from the camp of Rivas:

of course it does. don't f#cking open your mouth again if you don't understand why this is an issue. it's home cooking to give one fighter an unfair advantage. gloves are literally in a contract that you sign. at the weigh in both teams inspect and approve two sets of gloves. those gloves are then sealed and taken in by the commission. this is a big f#cking deal. this was home f#cking cooking at best, and an attempt to inflict serious, felonious harm, and a battery with a deadly weapon at the worst.

you guys make me sick. you've got blood on your hands.
