The way he treated Jackson was wrong. In an article Kovalev was claimed to say that he only uses Jackson for the gym time and that he pretty much trains himself. That's disrespectful IMO. He got let go by Sanchez who said his conduct was inappropriate. Racial slurs were attributed to him. I never cared for him. He's a good fighter but a lousy person.

I hear ya Tony...I don't really have an opinion one way or the other about the Jackson situation..I think Jackson handled that situation poorly and I can't really tell what happened between them anyway.

I do remember Sanchez saying he kicked him out...seemed to be alluding to character issues...possibly stuff like this...on the racist stuff, I think some of the comments were jokes, and some were maybe his true feelings.

But honestly I think most people can be a little 'racist' and Kov appears to me to be no more racist than the next man....his employment of black trainers indicates to me that he tries to judge the man and not the color.

Yeah I love his talent...as another guy pointed out...great talent as a puncher and a boxer...but stamina issues are an unforgivable sin in my book for a pro athlete...I just can't respect it...most of this stuff now with him is a bit he said she said.

Unfortunately (or fortunately) unless and until it is on video, it is hard to really pass judgment for me on most of these situations...that's why Ray Rice got it so hard...you can be accused of the worst stuff...but if you do't see it in person your instinct can always be 'no, they would never do that, that's terrible'

Once it's on video/or if you admit to it...there is just no coming back from it if it is really terrible...well I guess second chances exist but those are earned usually

Yeah that was a big red flag for me...if he had laid any type of hand on her she would have presumably had some serious injuries...and once you lie about/embellish that, what else are you lying about

Good point...I don't necessarily think he was drunk...but I hate that he feels like drinking/partying can go hand in hand with being a great fighter/having great stamina...same issue I have with McGregor
