Comments Thread For: Herring, Roach Jr. Agree to Terms For Nov. 9 130-Pound Title Fight

The weekends dedicated to Cinco de Mayo and Mexican Independence Day have been long been considered prime real estate in regard to showcasing major boxing events. For a decorated, twice-deployed U.S. Marine like Jamel Herring, occupying this nation's patriotic-themed weekends will suit his title reign just fine.

Roach is green but looks like he has some talent. I saw him at Turning stone blast out some trial horse in one round. Is he ready for a title shot? That's what makes these fights interesting. A young undefeated guy with limited competition stepping up!

Should be a good fight. Maybe Berchelt can drop the excuses and man up against the winner. If he doesnt put him on the shelf like they did Walters.

These guys are both at the bottom of the 130 class

I only see one champion in this division and his name happens to be Gervonta Davis, so Tevin Campbell, Ber****, and the rest can just bring them belts to Floyd house.

So what does Berchelt do now? Lomachenko's path is set for the next 6-9 months, not that Berchelt really wanted that work anyway! Cancio has been ordered to fight Rene Alvarado by the WBA! That leaves Farmer, Tank, and WBC #1, Jo Jo Diaz! Farmer vs. Jo Jo Diaz should be easy to make because they're both with DAZN! That leaves Tank! Floyd wants a PPV, and Berchelt definitely fits the bill! Zanifer should be on the phone to Ellerbe ASAP! They should be trying to derail any chance of Tank vs. Farmer, and Floyd should be happy because Berchelt brings a whole different fan base, whereas Tank and Farmer are from the same exact fan base! Tank vs. Farmer in Brooklyn would do well at the gate, but not PPV views! Interesting times ahead!

That’s funny because tank Davis didn’t even win the real title. They made one up for him. They need certain types of fighters to hold titles to hit markets. Charlo is another one. At the end of the day, it’s a business. The real champion is Cancio.

Good fight, Herring more seasoned but Roach is solid. Probably a decision and probably close. If Herring continues fighting like he has, he should take it.
