The half life of that steroid is only a few hours. The metabolite detection is unpredictable depending on several factors. If VADA had tested the same sample as UKAD, the results would have been the same. The difference would have been what was done with those results.

Half life is irrelevant. How long it's detectable is all that matters, a 5mg dose is detectable up to 19 days, Dianabol is usually taken in higher doses than that. If Whyte was cycling Dianabol there's no excuse for VADA not catching him.
