I get what Ramirez is saying and many times there are tragedies in boxing, I have to take a break for a couple weeks myself.

But the day some activist group sets their eyes on boxing as a danger to society or some system of oppression....they will legislate the sport out of existence and do so under the guise of safety and compassion.

Are you alleging that people wanted the fight stopped sooner or letting it continue? IMHO there is no one to blame for this tragedy. The guy was losing but still competitive. Buddy did say that he was thinking about stopping it after the 9th but Dadashev was still fighting back. Mcgirt did his job. He stopped it when he felt that it was necessary. Some claim that a fight can not be stopped too soon. That is an overreaction to a tragedy. Some of the greatest comebacks in history would have never occured if every fight was stopped as soon as someone was taking shots. Unfortunately some deaths can not be avoided. It sucks but it is what it is!

Some wanted it to CONTINUE and that it was a bad stoppage and was bashing Buddy McGirt for stopping it

I didn't know that. Actually watching it I thought that after the 11th was the perfect time to stop it. Max took a few brutal shots at the end of the round. Can't blame the ref because the round was over anyway.

If you check gofundme, Sergio Mora donated $500. Really cool guy.

if by being compassionate means fans need to be less critical of fighters then that makes sense.

if it's more of a emotional kind of being compassionate then you'll just stop being a fan of boxing because you wouldn't want to see 2 guys trying to punch each others head off...i'm sure these fighters wouldn't want that to happen.

some of these fighters really deserve to be criticize though because they're mouthy and and they hype their fights too much but perform short of expectations.

Buddy McGirt made the right decision but still too late, Top Rank should compensate the family of Dadashev.
