The legal streaming option (without risk of getting pulled) is now entrenched and will stand as a supplement to the traditional PPV path, but don't kid yourself.
The parties etc you mention that won't risk a stream dying are what 20k, 50k? That's not a business model. If you have to cover $30m in revenue before you see profit with sharing with broadcaster, fighters, etc smaller and smaller PPV diehards aren't going to cover it.

The odd mega spectacular Mac/May May/Pack type of thing will continue for a bit, but it's all heading in one direction.

If you honestly think that Thurman-Pacquiao only had 50k fight parties in all of the US on Saturday, you're fooling yourself. I don't know where you're from, but very few folks I know anyway, are sitting in a room, watching a fight by themselves if they have the choice.

Not every fight will be or should be PPV; Canelo is a PPV fighter, Wilder is basically a PPV fighter now, and Errol Spence Jr will be a PPV fighter going forward were he to beat Porter and Pacquiao to become WBC/WBA/IBF champion. Beyond that, it's matchup dependent.

Breaking a million PPV buys is going to take the right matchup, but you don't need a million buys.

Thurman-Pacquiao apparently is on track to top 500k PPV buys, Spence-Porter now has 2 months to build an event that builds on Spence-Garcia, and then we've got Wilder-Ortiz 2 for the late Fall.

At least three chances to gather all of the friends and family together to have a fun Saturday that you likely wouldn't have had otherwise, for less than $200 all in ($75 on the PPV, $100 for the drink/food depending on what you get and what folks bring).

There wasn’t that much buzz for this fight? It received top notch promotion by PBC and FOX. The amount of content was deep and there was definitely hype for this fight. I think it’ll do a solid 700k but I wouldn’t be surprised if it gets near 1 mil.

          Maybe 500k PPV tops.

This is probably just Manny's legit return to superstardom. Maybe in his next upcoming fights is the time we will see those 700-800k PPVs back again.

Pacquiao vs Broner earned about 425K PPV buys

That is way better than Wilder-Fury's 325K PPV buys.

Pacquiao vs Thurman PPV buys is hovering around 600-700K PPV buys

Those are very impressive numbers considering this is Thurman's first PPV fight.

Go look at the numbers! When Floyd fights, the numbers are not even close! That's why 5 out of top 6 fights in Nevada history are Mayweather fights!

Even if it made 700k, it will probably be announced as 500K. It's in the best interest of all parties involved if the real higher amount is not known lol, especially the Philippine side.

Lucky for Inson who replaced Molina, $100k purse for him, he can retire already, he won't make it at welterweight, maybe he should go down to 140.

Why do you think they wouldn't announce the real figure?
