People still died, but when you hear what some people go through to make weight these days, it makes you think there's got to be a better way.

We will never know how the number of deaths and injuries of boxers before the internet and social media. I think we can assume it was much more than what was officially reported in the newspapers.

rabbit punching is not enforced hard enough in boxing. and i think this kid fell victim to that. he kept getting hit like that in every clinch. ref said nothing. i don't understand how it is "illegal" according to boxing rules yet the refs NEVER say a damn thing.

this sport is truly barbaric. but we all love it.

another thing this shows is that boxing is not prepared to deal with these tragedies. maxim was vomiting blood while walking to the locker room when he had no business being on his feet. and this kid was simply placed on the mat with a bunch of ppl standing and screaming over him.

this sport is never prepared to deal with this stuff. and that's the issue that needs to be addressed.

This is why if this board had mods that did their damned jobs, then you'd see people who call fighters "bums" and "cowards" get banned.

Also, for racial abuse, but that's a different story.

You’ll never separate the racists from boxing, especially the nationalistic casuals is ho are ethnic/National fans before boxing fans. And plus social media and the internet gives a voice to mental patients
