Canelo is near the peak of his career and still has unfinished business at MW, or a couple of great fights at SMW if he (all 5'8" of him, in cowboy boots) really wants to fight higher weight class fighters. Why go for Sergey? Just ******ed IMHO

    I 100% agree

and I am a Canelo fan

as big/good as he is, Kovalev is not in my list of top 5 opponents

if that fight gets signed, I will probably come around..... because he is a good opponent..... but that fight is still too left-field for me..... with there being at least 2 more-legitimate opponents at 160, and 3 more-legitimate opponents at 168..... than Kovalev

especially as there will likely be a catchweight

I would much prefer Callum Smith than Kovalev

oh well, so be it..... if they are still talking, then it will probably happen

**** Golovkin. I hope Canelo stands firm and never gives that diva another shot until he earns it by fighting someone with a pulse.
      Get lost, Andre Ward!

They in panic mode after Jacobs lost.
Thats not the point...They signed Canelo to a big long term contract. They doing same thing showtime did with Floyd forcing money fights

Actually reading back, apparently Kov-Yarde would be scrapped? That only makes this more disgraceful, Canelo would be happy to derail an up and coming prospect’s shot at the big time that he’s worked to earn, and even has a date and venue set, all so he can stroke his ego and avoid the fights that the fans are actually demanding of him. I’ve never really liked Canelo before but he’s becoming my most disliked fighter at a rapid pace.

You're an idiot. MEN make choices. Offers aren't ultimatums, and step asides are optional. Have you seen Warren and Yarde ditch the idea from the get go? Have Warren and Yarde been headlining ''hells no we are not interested.''

Subtext shows you just don't like Canelo because he beat Fielding and Golovkin. ''Most disliked'' lol. good one. If you follow the forum you'll notice many boxing fans completely open to many of Canelo's options. Stop assuming everyone loves Fielding!

... Canelo never fights Kova at 175...

... the initial idea was to drag the old and drunk man down at 170-172 and make him gas and quit... no rocket science here...

I’m pretty sure Yarde will get six figures in step aside money??? And I’m sure he’ll ether fight early next year if he wins or will be fighting for the vacant belt. Win-win IMo.

We will find out here shortly. He has a few hours to make the Sergiy fight or gets stripped.
