Great news. If Buddy Mcgirt and that referee don't contribute their entire checks for that night I will never look at them the same.

Why? They have to make a living themselves. And they will have to deal with enough guilt as it is. There was really no obvious point of stopping the fight. It is just such an sad and unfortunate situation. No need to guilt the involved parties any more.

A fighters job is to fight.

A trainer and referee's job is to notice when a fighter has had enough. They were both way off! The least they could do is help out with the funeral.

Come on man, don't do this.

McGrit stopped it when he felt his guy was taking too much damage and couldn't win. Just in the 9th or 10th round, Dadashev was still fairly competitive. You weren't going to stop it at that point.

Just donated. All of us need to throw them something. Fighters, writers and fans. He was part of our community. Rest easy gladiator

I agree. Ain’t no point in kicking those 2 while they’re down. Plus it says arum is paying all funeral expenses. If anyone can help them then help. Save your opinion for another post.

In hindsight we all have 20/20 vision. Maxim was fighting back with a spirited effort which makes it harder to see below the surface and what greater damage is going on. No one can see the inside of his skull during a fight. Some fighters have taken worse punishment on the surface and lived to fight again. There is just not enough information. It makes you wish that Maxim would have quit a few rounds earlier but adrenaline masks the damage going on inside and he is a fighter. This conversation wouldnt be happening if he had lived and no one could know he would wind up this way - no one can be blamed for this. If hydration was the reason, where does that lead to? Some fighters are sent back out by their corner after being dropped many times and defenseless and what seems like a worse beating - that is where you wonder why a corner could do that, but this wasnt the case. The problem with Maxim is he wasnt completely defenseless in the rounds preceding which made it harder for the fight to be stopped earlier. I do hope everyone around him donates...the ref, McGirt, his corner, mostly Arum.

This is why I'm reluctant to criticize referees who stop a fight early or fighters who decide enough is enough.

You have to trust that they see what we don't sat at home.

I've read a lot of tweets by well known boxers about how sad they are about Dadachev passing, hopefully they donate.
