You know it's true. He should have tried to beat the hec out of Pacquiao. He didn't. In front the largest audience in the history of the sport he stunk the joint out. He blew it. Round 11 and 12 should have been closing the show rounds. It didn't happen. That's fact. The world saw this and was p*ss*d off. This doesn't mean he didn't have a great career, It means he let go of a great opportunity when the sport needed it the most. We all saw that. The Greatest always closed the show in the big ones. Not Floyd that one night. And that wasn't just any night or any fight.
All that MATTERS is that W cuz if Manny beat T.B.E. like T.B.E. beat Manny ALL YOU dudes would be talking about what a technician Many is Fvk the dumb shet.
I'm pretty sure Floyd won't fight Pac for 1 belt. He'll make Pac fight Spence/Porter winner in Jan 2020 to get 3 belts. He'll fight Manny on May 2020 for 3 belts.
Floyd beat Manny. The timing of the fight and how it transpired were pretty pathetic. But that doesn't change the (very clear) result.
There's not much value to hold in the first fight bud. First fight was already passed their prime. Everyone knows a prime Pacquiao will bust up Floyd from pillar to post.
Yup Floyd won that night, but you forget it's a shallow win. An injured Pac gave him hell for 12 rounds. All Floyd can do is run and hug for 12 ***** rounds against a smaller man with a torn rotator cuff. It's academic what Pac would do to Floyd with 2 healthy arms.
Not to mention those IVs Floyd got caught using on the day before the fight. That alone taints the first fight. So many controversy. Not really a fight to be proud of really. It was so bad even Floyd admitted to owe his fans for that poor tragic performance.
Floyd Mayweather: " I owe them for the Pacquiao fight "
You mean T.B.D.E. ..... the best ducker ever. Geez, you boxing casuals don't even know boxing history. Armstrong and Robinson come to mind instantly... back during MUCH tougher times as far as competition, schedules etc. I'd say go look at who those 2 fought, but you'd likely know NONE of them.
Stop lying. "Pretty Boy" was ducked for YEARS & when he became "Money" THEN they wanted to fight him AND he DID fight them
And stop talking about the old days when they had NO SKILLS. Just a bunch of dudes doing Rock'em Sock'em. The old dudes couldn't hang today, they would all get outclasses.
It's not fair to the fans. Especially those nut huggers who really really like Floyd. I wanted to see him again too as a fan of the sport. I give credit where it's due especially when you consider he won every second of every round against Marquez, Gatti, Canelo or Corrales. I don't get this nonsense where if you give honest criticism you hate Floyd or you hate African Americans. Reminds me of that nut case Minnesota congressman. My heroes were Muhammad Ali and Marvin Hagler when I was growing up and that had nothing to do with the amount of Melanin in their skin. Maybe I'm not pasty white did you ever consider that?. Ironically the first ones who shout racism in most instances are usually exposed as the biggest racists of all
You trying to flip the script but that's not how it goes. T.B.E. is the just that, The Best Ever but why is it that he has done more than any fighter in history but gets discredited more than any fighter in history?
Please no rematch, it will be a boring fight. Floyd will clinch all night and ran to the delight of the insomniacs. Again a boring fight. Like manny said, let him enjoy his retirement. Period.
Just in this thread alone you went from T.B.E. is scared to no it will be "boring" (meaning T.B.E. would win again).
Let's be honest, Mayweather was a great fighter for his generation. But how he went about achieving that, and the lengths he goes to maintain his memory speak to what Mayweather really thinks about HIMSELF, and how important it is that we all think differently.
What's the old Shakespeare passage? I think the lady doth protest too much. Sure fits our sweet little Coco Puff.
T.B.E. is The Best Ever, not just "this generation."
Floyd beat Manny. The timing of the fight and how it transpired were pretty pathetic. But that doesn't change the (very clear) result.
Unless we had a time machine and could force these two to face off in their prime at a reasonable weight, there's no point further talking about matching them.
But everyone knows that. The ulterior motive here is to drive home the point that Manny's a warrior and Floyd is not. Manny took on floyd. Why didn't Floyd ever take on Paul Williams, Sergio Martinez, or Winky Wright?
We all see that Manny was a bit reckless with his career. But that's acceptable in Boxing. Conversely, Floyd was so busy manufacturing a legacy for himself, he missed the opportunity to actually do so.
