Comments Thread For: Canelo-Derevyanchenko Deal In Works; IBF Purse Bid Postponed

Canelo Alvarez's promoters expressed enough recent interest in making a deal to fight Sergiy Derevyanchenko next that their IBF purse bid scheduled for Tuesday was postponed. Multiple sources have informed BoxingScene.com that Golden Boy Promotions and Lou DiBella, Derevyanchenko's promoter, are negotiating for Alvarez to make a mandatory defense of his IBF middleweight title versus Derevyanchenko either in October or November. Alvarez announced Wednesday that he would not fight September 14 because he and Golden Boy Promotions needed more time to put together a deal for him to face a top opponent.

Not a bad match, so December for sure?

I guess it's better than losing a strap and the GGG fans saying Canelo ducked Sergey for Vanes. I'm glad Sergey went 12 with Jacobs... I don't GGG fans saying Sergey was already ''beaten up'' by Jacobs

The franchise told them he'll fight who he wants to fight and if they don't like it he won't fight at all. See they switched up real quick after he cancelled that September date

Hopefully DAZN will agree to this fight, as he’s a decent opponent

DAZN said only GGG or Kovalev and nobody else ever and make Nelo cry every day. They probably will block this fights cuz they're so mean to KingNelo!!!!!!!

Well at least DAZN is allowing him to keep his titles intact.
