Pac cherry picked thurman or did PBC cherry picked pac?

there seem to be some talks leading up to this fight saying that manny cherry picked thurman.. but now that the fight is over and looking back at it, was it the other way around???

did PBC made this match up thinking pac was gonna get mopped up? remember now, manny is NOT an actual PBC fighter, he's only on a 2-3 fight contract with them, where as for thurman, he's their guy.

so did PBC made this fight in hopes that thurman will win and have a win over a name like pacquiao for future promotion wise? the reaction from ellerbe, floyd, etc. just seems like they were secretly rooting for thurman.

look at when pac fought broner. in this fight, pac was view as the clear winner even before the fight even started, everyone had pac beating broner. leading up to this fight, floyd showed manny a lot of respect by visiting pac in his locker room, giving him last minute words, etc. because everyone knew pac was gonna beat broner.

but for the thurman fight, manny was actually the underdog at the beginning. this fight was always view as 50/50 with a good chance of pac getting ko'd. it just seems like others was hoping pac would get ko'd because a win over thurman at this point will boost manny's legacy up even more.

this is why for the thurman fight, floyd was nowhere to be found near manny, because if floyd was to be around manny like he was with the broner fight, then it will look like floyd is rooting on manny to beat thurman, the guy who floyd ducked. so this wouldnt be a good look for floyd.

this is why he was nowhere near manny or did zero interview regarding this fight. where as for the broner fight, broner was seen as a chump, so floyd being around manny means nothing since broner is not view as anyone important.

On ESPN post fight, Teddy Atlas said Thurman looked bad against Lopez and that is why Manny picked him for the fight.

Pacquiao's team definitely felt more confident fighting Thurman opposed to someone like Spence so they picked him. When you are paying someone like Pacquiao 20M a fight, the opponent has to be a big name or respectable and Thurman fit the bill. I don't think the PBC thought Pacquiao was going to get destroyed by Thurman. I mean how can you after Thurman's last performance? It was just a good solid match up that delivered. THE Welterweight that PBC cares the most about is Spence and Pacquiao winning was the best thing for that as their potential fight next year will be bigger than if it would have been Spence vs Thurman.

Thurman may only be 30 years old, but at this point it was clear he was never going to break as an superstar. That time had passed. He is unreliable as he gets hurt too much and only wants to fight once a year. Him losing isn't a big blow as that was going to happen regardless once he stepped in with Spence.

Neither. It was a great fight & a close fight. Thurman was probably picked by team Pacquiao after getting hurt from Lopez.

They both had WBA belts, and it was an in house fight. Wasn't a cherry pick by either.
