Comments Thread For: Whyte Won't Take 'Easy Fights' Before Fighting For WBC Title

Dillian Whyte won't just protect his spot as the WBC's mandatory challenger for Deontay Wilder's heavyweight title. London's Whyte will continue taking difficult fights until he finally gets his long-awaited WBC title shot. It would be wiser, of course, for Whyte to take on a less threatening opponent than previously unbeaten Colombian Oscar Rivas, who dropped Whyte with an uppercut in the ninth round of their fight Saturday night at O2 Arena in London.

Maybe a C level heavyweight like Washington or Martin could do. I won't be surprised if Hearn tries to throw him in there with a Price though (smh).

Whytes resume is pretty good. Can't believe he ain't had a crack at the WBC belt after all those wins especially against Parker and Rivas. I think the WBC will make Wilder their franchise champion at the last second to bum Whyte then he will be given the WBC Mickey mouse belt just like Charlo was.

He cant take easy fights because hes on the same level as the people we would call easy. So their is no easy fights for him unless we bring an amateur up.

41 posts in 3 years and I'm hoping there isn't a 42nd. Whyte arguably has the best resume at HW.

He got dropped by this Rivas guy.

Anyone can outbox Wilder so if he can last 12 he'll win. But idk that he can last 12 is the thing. Whyte's defense isn't anything special. His boxing ain't even that good, he's been touch & go with Del Boy in 2 fights & Del Boy isn't exactly known as a great boxer himself. So I just don't see Whyte being likely to upset the apple cart here. Its a 70/30 Wilder fight & almost everyone has a 20% chance to beat Wilder cuz he's so wild.
