The last chapter of his years with Top Rank left a bad taste in his mouth.

I'm pretty sure he'll stay put and make Top Rank irrelevant

Pac’s great and I think him leaving the sport on a high note would be best for him
Just feel like their going to try to make a superstar ( hence Bud or Errol ) off his name
I really hope he retires too, I wouldn’t be comfortable watching a 40/41 year old Pacquiao against a massive and dangerous Welterweight like Spence.

His performance and victory over Thurman, was a fitting end to a legendary career IMO.

I do regretfully believe he will 100% continue fighting though...

To my knowledge you don’t sign that type of deal with Haymon cause he’s not “officially” a promoter. He’s an advisor.

An advisor’s role is to oversee the fighter’s interests, handle financial or contractual matters that a fighter wouldn’t be qualified to handle himself. A promoter looks to stage commercial events with the goal of making a profit, so is essentially employing the fighter for a few, whereas an advisor is employed by the fighter.

Haymon very much crosses over both lines due to his immense influence but officially he’s an advisor so signing a deal with Haymon will not likely have a time specification attached to it. A good example of this is Amir Khan, he’s remains a Haymon client but has fought freely across several networks including: Showtime, HBO, ESPN, Sky, BT, Channel 5 etc.
But Haymon fighters do sign deals either for x amount of years or x amount of fights. If it is for x amount of years, then it's probably going to be for the rest of his career. But there are cases where a fighter signs a three fight or something...See Luis Nery.

          No way.

Okay, this is what I was looking for. So it was a three fight deal? Next fight most likely won't be Spence if he beats Porter then. Pacquiao probably would prefer a more winnable fight and then he can start some type of bidding war for his services. I mean ideally he wants Floyd next...And that's fine. Don't think he gets him but that would be his preference.

Pacman showed he could still fight at an high level against Thurman. If he wants to take on someone like Spence or Crawford? You let him do so.

They sign those deals with PBC though, which is essentially like signing a network deal as I believe PBC is categorised as a network television series, what makes PBC so confusing is its a conglomeration of many different en******. If Pacquiao signed a deal with PBC he will very likely be tied down for “X” amount of fights the same way Nery is when he signed with PBC. But I think Pacquiao only signed a deal with Haymon as an advisor as opposed to committing contractually to the PBC franchise.

Manny will most likely ask for a bigger purse if PBC asks him to fight Spence

It's just right cos win or lose, that could very well be his last fight

Pacquiao signed with PBC for a minimum of three fights. It was reported at the time. Who knows how the deal was structured. The deal could technically have been with Mayweather Promotions or Ten Goose or whatever.

Just doing some research now bro, I can’t find anything saying Pac signed for “x” number of fights. Pacquiao also promotes himself via MP promotions which seems to have been absorbed into the PBC conglomerate.

Yeah, but not sure which type of deal Pacquiao signed. Crazy how no one really has the details of such a big deal.

Just seeing if it is possible for him to leverage for the highest bidder anytime soon with Spence and Crawford on opposite sides.

But with Haymon taking care of his tax bill and giving him supposedly 20M a fight, he's unlikely to go anywhere.

I think a lot of the deals information remained disclosed, which isn’t surprising considering Haymon’s legal history in regards to Arum haha.

I think whether contractually or not, Pacquiao is pretty much tied to Haymon/PBC as it seems they can offer him a package no one else can.
