I get the feeling that if Wilder-Fury II does well enough on sales that the winner may get this bull-sheite new "franchise" champion status that the WBC is determined to feed us.
Whyte will end up fighting someone else for the a vacant belt which will be viewed as a secondary title, much like the much-maligned WBA "regular" belt.

The Rivas fight was for the WBC Interim title. If the WBC name Wilder/Ortiz/Fury as franchise champion, then Whyte will automatically be upgraded to WBC Champion.

Same thing as they have done with Canelo and Charlo.

Charlo is now being seen as the WBC Mickey mouse champion. Don't want same thing to happen to Whyte

Same here. But if the Wilder and Fury both win their upcoming fights, and go onto fight each other, I just can't see much chance of the winner choosing to fight Whyte over the trilogy fight.

Hearn finally tells the truth that this is ther first time Whyte has been the mandatory
"He's the WBC's interim champion and for the first time, their mandatory challenger. His shot will come, it's just a case of when.
Anytime a liar keeps talking he'll eventually tell on himself

Funny how everybody ignores that Haney really should be fighting for that vacant title vs Campbell instead of Lomachenko. The WBC made a special exemption for Lomachenko and not a peep from Eddie
