Ruiz isn't talking like a guy contractually obligated to do whatever Hearn wants. He is talking like a guy who knows his negotiating position.
Matchroom haven't announced because they are deciding between venues.

Ruiz hasn't announced the venue because matchroom hasn't told them where the fight will be.

See the difference? People ask Ruiz where he'd prefer the fight, people ask Hearn where the fight will be, there's a reason for that.

Also don't be too sure if Ruiz breached the contract it would only be the rematch money on the line. The rematch clause was just that, a clause in a contract that made Ruiz $7m, he breaches that contract of course that money is back on the table in a lawsuit, that's how contracts work, you don't break contracts and just keep the money.

All of this is just academic anyway, Ruiz won't breach the rematch clause, he'll fight where Joshua decides and make millions win, lose or draw, it's just some of theses comments make me fear for humanity. Like do people not know how contracts work, are they teenagers or just no clue of how businesses operate?

IIRC, Fury was stripped. Was forced to repeat ''lineal'' over and over.......

If a champ refuses to defend the titles, he vacates them. Others will have to fight for them. A guy can't (or shouldn't be able to) hold a title hostage.

Because bad hometown decisions never happen in the US right? Given that he already stopped Joshua, he should be confident that it wont go to points and earn extra money travelling.

The difference is one guy is a fighter and the other is a promoter.

So what's the hold up on Matchroom decision on the rematch if they are in control?

Lastly..how do you figure Matchroom is going to get Ruiz purse for a fight he actual fought in back. They can only sue for LOST revenue for the part of the contract not executed.

That's against their mandatory. The alphabet orgs don't care about rematch clauses in contracts. Fury was stripped by the IBF because they didn't care about his rematch clause with Klitschko and wanted him to fight his mando Glasgov. He vacated the other titles.

Nah, a dude can't sit on a title when there's an active contract in place.

Trust me, A-Side Andy is going to get stripped if he doesn't honor the contract he signed.

No the difference is one side has the choice of venue as per the contract. There was an IFL interview with Hearn just after the Loma announcement where he clearly said again, decision will be made this week and Ruiz will be notified so I guess we'll see if you or Hearn is correct shortly enough.

Again you appear to not understand the fundamentals of contract law, if you breach the terms of a contract which paid $7m and expect their lawyers to not go after it you must be insane.

The titles and the rematch clause are two separate en******. Just deal with it. Ruiz could vacate and AJ couldn't get those titles back without fighting multiple people.
