What do you think the rematch clause would specify? Maybe things like split/fees, timeframe & who chooses location?
Breaching the rematch clause, which specifies Hearn/Joshua decide location obviously breaches the original contract, so they get sued for the original $7m payment, plus loss of future income for Joshua. If Ruiz tries to fight someone else they sue for an injuction to prevent any fights until the breach is rectified. It would be a legal nightmare that would do Ruiz no good as he would be clearly in the wrong.
Ruiz isn't talking like a guy contractually obligated to do whatever Hearn wants. He is talking like a guy who knows his negotiating position.Comment

So if the contract says Matchroom determines location, why haven't they determined it yet. Why does Hearn continue to say MSG is an option? Further, if there was a breach of contract, Hearn can only sue for lost revenue from the rematch.

That's why I typed in my comments - "In due time we'll find out if this is true or not."
It may be true or it may not be true but we'll find out soon enough.Comment
