Again I know Pac took a risk I didn't say that, but Thurman was the weakest of possible opponents in my opinion yes even with porter, style wise since Porter is a brawler wrestler a la Horn but miles better. That's why I think they set it up how they did with Thurman-Pac and Porter-Spence. With the odds being in Favor of Pac-Spence.
Most knowledgeable folks saw this as a 50/50. Pac is the oldest fighter in history to win the Welterweight title. It hasnt happened before, and everyone on the boards may be planted 10 feet in the ground before it happens again, if it happens again. Pac is in the record books. Cong**** to one of the best to ever lace up gloves.

the haters are off their rockers completely hahahahahahahahahahaha. keiths 2 year lay off is nothing in comparison to what pac has been through (ko'ed multiple times, multiple wars, pro since 16 living in 3rd world poverty, etc. etc.). pac is a shadow of his former self easily. yet even pac's shadow is giving these young champs L's. respect!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A huge cong**** to him. I never said it his victory in and of itself was anything short of impressive. The point I'm making as I stated in another thread is its impressive because of his age... not really because of Thurman. If this was prime manny Thurman would be just another name on his resume. Having had 2 of the best of the generation if not the two best in the same weight class for years spoiled the welterweight division...where Thurman while good is nowhere near the level the two I mentioned were at their prime. Imagine prime Pac vs Thurman and it would be 80/20 if not worse.

No, the odds would still be close because the reason why Thurman was not favored more than he was, was his time off and his fight with Lopez. Public perception, especially here on these boards at the time Thurman beat Garcia was clearly favoring Thurman to beat Pac. I was one of the very few who debated that Pac would win...would do so with his angles against Thurman. At that time and when Thurman first won the title, many picked him to beat Pac if they ever fought. So a prime Pac vs an active Thurman would still have been close in the odds. It is what it is.
