  • What Makes manny So Dominant In Exchanges & Trading

    Not many can outbrawl him.

Keith tried to trade with manny last night. Those were the only parts of the match that made me go damn, Keith getting *****ed up

Morales managed in the first fight but started weakening towards the end of the match.

Marquez outbrawled manny but in spurts.

Even at 40, he's just so damn fast and throws these fast compact punches in combos right between your punches.

Fast accurate hands, no fear of taking one to land his own, and can fire his shots from angles with his foot work.

When the punches are flying there is no one better.

He has lost so much over the years though.

And remember he is doing this against much bigger guys, when your size is a huge advantage when trading leather.

I don't think it's one thing, I think it's the combination of everything that makes Manny the fighter that he is. He's an athletic, awkward southpaw with quick hands and power. Those attributes alone would give most people fits in exchanges, but add his skills, experience, temperment, etc. and you end up with an unbelievable fighters that needs to be tamed in order to be defeated.

Speed, Power, Chin...Defense. Defense may come as a surprise but there's something I noticed Manny Pacquiao does when throwing punches that gets him out of harms way while being dangerous. Manny sometimes doesn't look at his opponent when throwing punches because he knows where their head is going to be. When he lunges in with his left hand, he'll drop his head avoiding whatever's coming back while connecting with his own punch. He doesn't have to see his opponent because he already knows where their head will be.

Speed, angles and he isnt scared. He throws with conviction.

He throws with intent and that makes opponent very wary and hesitant to stay in the fire with him.

Pac's a different breed man. He's just truly one of a kind. Once in a lifetime fighter

his quickness and awkward punches.. like thurman said about the 1st round knockdown.. he knew manny likes to jump in while throwing punches at the same time and thurman thought he could back out in time without getting clipped. but that was not the case because of pac's quickness and awkward choice of punches.

Excellent accuracy for the speed, underrated defence too.

Manny was making fun of Keith in the buildup to the fight about how he throws his punches so wide and has no defense while he's punching.

Fast and effective footwork, fast and effective combinations, straight punches which are faster than hooks, and he lands then from many angles, he's very hard to hit and also has a granite chin and iron will when he does get hit.

Many fighters have maybe two, three of those attributes. Manny is one of the only ones who has every single one of those attributes.
