  • Comments Thread For: David Allen After David Price Loss: I'm Probably Done

David Allen has hinted that he could hang up the gloves on the back of his latest defeat. The Conisbrough heavyweight was pulled out by his head trainer Darren Barker after 10 completed rounds on Saturday night. Allen took on David Price at the O2 Arena in London, exclusively live on Sky Sports Box Office and DAZN, for the vacant WBA Continental title.

Give it a bit, lad. There's always card filler fights and people find you entertaining enough.

makes sense to call it a day he's took way too many shots through his career.

Has there been any word on why the oxygen and stretcher were required?

At any rate, yeah, getting dominated over 10 by Price isn’t good. He can hang around low-level British level for a while but if he’s got any ambitions higher than that then maybe it’s time. I don’t want to take too much away from Price though, I thought that he did great.

Time to stop. Hes taken big shots from some big punchers and hes never going to win even a European title. Hes done really well with quite limited skills and made good money.

He would still get some lower level domestic fights.

If you quit against Price, it is time to stop, yes.

"JOSHUA QUIT! IF I WAS JOSHUA I'D MOVE TO AN ISLAND & NEVER BOX AGAIN!" Dave Allen

Haha poetic justice but seriously Allen is a good fighter. Price hits very hard and actually boxed well. Looks like Pricey has finally learnt something from his loses.

If he is a real fighter he'll come back better. Fighting isn't just about winning it's about improving and learning from defeat.

He's done a lot of rounds with guys like Price, Yoka, Ortiz, Whyte. His defence isn't the best and he won't go down, so he takes a lot of clean, hurtful punches.
It would of been the same if he had won and manged to get the Povetkin fight he wanted.

It wouldn't be the worst idea to hang them, although he could still fight on undercards domestically and make money.

Props to him for going for it though, we don't see enough top boxers doing the same thing.
